Affectionately known as Honest Abe, Lincoln was known for being tought but fair.  He was also a prolific writer and an eloquent orator.<\/p>\n

Five days after the American Civil War came to an end, Lincoln was assassinated today on April 14, 1865<\/a>.  <\/p>\n
