Destined star-crossed lovers must be overrated because over half of Americans believe their pets are their soulmates. A poll of 2,000 United States pet owners discovered that 53 percent think their pet knows them better than anyone, including family members, friends, and significant others.<\/p>\n

Forty-five percent tell their deepest secrets to their pets, and 72 percent think their pet knows what they\u2019re feeling at any time. Participants believe that pets can feel when someone is outside the home, when you\u2019re upset, happy, tired or angry. Twenty-five believe their pet can mirror their emotions most or all the time.<\/p>\n

Pets can imitate specific human-like traits, like eating together or at the same time, coming to help when they\u2019re needed, snoring, or sleeping under blankets. The study was commissioned by Zesty Paws<\/a> and conducted by OnePoll in honor of National Pet Month; it also found that 32 percent of pet owners believe they\u2019re so connected to their pets that their zodiac signs are compatible. Over a third think their personality traits reflect their zodiac signs, while 28 percent think the same for their pet\u2019s signs and characteristics.<\/p>\n

Participants found their zodiacs are in sync regarding how they spend their weekends. For example, fire signs like Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius enjoy relaxing on the weekend, while Capricorns like playing together, and socialite Libras want to visit friends and family. In a statement, Yvethe Tyszka, the vice president of marketing at Zesty Paws, said, \u201cThe bond we have with our pets is unique in a variety of ways. That connection can be so strong; it feels as if pets can read our minds and emotions at times.\u201d<\/p>\n

Results also revealed what respondents\u2019 pets would likely do with their lives if they were human for a day, all based on their zodiac signs.\u00a0Aquarius pets were found to be a perfect match for royalty; Taurus has the palate for being\u00a0professional chefs, Virgos are set to be your trainer, and Scorpio pets will\u00a0handle your finances.<\/p>\n

Inquisitive Geminis and loud Sagittarius pets are ideal\u00a0motivational speakers, while Aries and Capricorns will hear you out as your live-in\u00a0therapist. Cancers will see you on the\u00a0basketball\u00a0court as\u00a0pro athletes, communicative Libras have the patience for customer service, Leos were made to be\u00a0reality TV stars, and Pisces will take their fame online as YouTube personalities.<\/p>\n
