A Louisiana church community is grieving alongside one of its pastors after a heartbreaking accident claimed the lives of two beloved family members returning home from a week of ministry and fellowship.<\/p>\n

Pastor Tim Brady of Lifeway Apostolic Church in Kentwood, Louisiana, lost his 13-year-old son, Benson Brady, and his 22-year-old daughter-in-law, Katie Barber Brady, in a tragic crash Saturday as the family traveled home from Camp Apex, a Pentecostal youth conference in Magnolia, Arkansas.<\/p>\n

The South Central Region Youth Ministry of the Worldwide Pentecostal Fellowship shared news of the tragedy<\/a> on social media, asking believers to pray for the Brady family, their church, and others involved in the accident.<\/p>\n

“Please help us lift up the Tim Brady Family, Lifeway Apostolic Church (Kentwood, LA), and the others who were traveling home from Camp Apex today,” the ministry wrote. “This precious family and church were involved in a fatal wreck today. Three people remain in the hospital, and the entire family and church need our fervent and sincere prayers, love, and support right now.”<\/p>\n

According to KTBS<\/a>, the crash occurred around 11:30 a.m. on Louisiana Highway 9 near Athens when a 2022 Ram pickup truck left the roadway and struck a tree. Officials said neither drugs nor alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the accident.<\/p>\n

Family members said Pastor Brady’s oldest son, Jay Brady, who married Katie just six months ago<\/a>, was driving the vehicle. He was treated and released from the hospital. Two other children remain hospitalized.<\/p>\n

The loss has been especially painful for the Brady family because both Benson and Katie were deeply involved in their church community. Pastor Brady told KTBS that Katie had spent much of the youth camp ministering to young girls and praying with them.<\/p>\n

As he struggles to make sense of the tragedy, Brady has leaned on the faith that has guided his family through life’s challenges.<\/p>\n

“If you’ve never lost a child, you don’t know the pain,” he said.<\/p>\n

The grieving pastor acknowledged the difficult questions that often follow devastating loss.<\/p>\n

“We don’t understand why it happened. We don’t understand God’s ways,” Brady said. “The Bible says that He’ll give you peace.”<\/p>\n

Despite the heartbreak, he expressed confidence in God’s presence during the family’s darkest hour.<\/p>\n

“I take comfort in knowing He’s with us and walking with my son and my church family,” Brady said. “I take comfort in knowing he’s with Jesus.”<\/p>\n

Christians across the country have responded with prayers and messages of support. Among them was Pastor Jonathan Alvear of Conyers Apostolic Church in Georgia, who had previously ministered alongside Brady.<\/p>\n

“I cannot imagine the level of grief they are experiencing,” Alvear wrote<\/a>. “Please join me in praying for these wonderful people in their time of immense sorrow.”<\/p>\n

Stories like this remind us how fragile life can be and how quickly circumstances can change. Yet they also point to the hope Christians cling to even in the midst of overwhelming grief\u2014the promise that God remains near to the brokenhearted and walks with His children through every valley.<\/p>\n
