Pastor Greg Locke is mourning the heartbreaking loss of his 20-year-old son, Evan Roberts Locke, who died Friday, May 8th, following a drug overdose.<\/p>\n

The Tennessee pastor shared the devastating news in an emotional statement posted to social media<\/a> just hours after learning that his son could not be revived.<\/p>\n

“Today, words fail us,” Locke wrote. “It’s been a long, hard battle the last few years. In times like this, the sacrifices and the struggles don’t even matter.”<\/p>\n

According to Locke, Evan suffered cardiac arrest connected to the overdose.<\/p>\n

“A few hours ago, we received the most earth-shattering news that our 20-year-old son, Evan Roberts Locke, could not be revived after his heart stopped due to an overdose,” the pastor said.<\/p>\n

Locke, who leads Global Vision Bible Church in Lebanon, acknowledged that his son’s struggles had become widely known over the years. Despite the public nature of Evan’s battle, the grieving father pointed followers back to faith and the sustaining grace of Christ.<\/p>\n

“His struggle was very public,” Locke wrote. “It was used as a warning to many, a punchline to the haters, but an overall reminder that even in our deepest pain, the grace of Jesus will sustain us.”<\/p>\n

The pastor also asked supporters to pray for his family and respect their privacy as they process the unimaginable loss.<\/p>\n

“He has 5 heartbroken siblings and a world of people that helped him along his journey,” Locke added.<\/p>\n

News of Evan’s death prompted an immediate outpouring of support from fellow Christians, pastors, and ministry leaders across social media.<\/p>\n

Missionary and worship leader Sean Feucht responded on X<\/a>, writing, “Brother, I am so so sorry, and my heart and prayers are with your family.”<\/p>\n

Revivalist Stan Lovins II also shared an encouraging message on Facebook.<\/p>\n

“Absolutely heartbreaking!!! Greg Locke, I’m praying for Holy Ghost Comfort, Strength and Supernatural Healing for you, your Family and everyone of us who were blessed to know Evan in Jesus’ Mighty Name!!!!” he wrote.<\/p>\n

The tragedy has sparked renewed conversations among many Christians online about addiction, mental health, and the pain families endure when loved ones struggle with substance abuse. For some, Locke’s transparency about his son’s battle has also served as a reminder that hardship can affect any family \u2014 including those in ministry.<\/p>\n
