A Florida community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Olivia Maggs, a beloved nurse, wife, and mother of three, who was killed in a tragic crash on Memorial Day. Maggs, 32, was traveling with her three young children on Interstate 95 in Brevard County when a pickup truck experienced a tire blowout and collided with their family van.<\/p>\n

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident occurred Monday afternoon near the Pineda Causeway. The driver of a Ford F-350 lost control after the tire blew out, striking Maggs\u2019 Honda Odyssey in the adjacent lane. Both vehicles veered off the road and slammed into a guardrail.<\/p>\n

Maggs was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n

Her three children\u2014an infant girl and two toddler boys\u2014were seriously injured and airlifted to Arnold Palmer Children\u2019s Hospital. A GoFundMe set up by Maggs’ sister-in-law shared that the baby girl suffered a broken femur and a brain bleed. The two boys were also hurt but are reportedly \u201cokay.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a powerful testament to God’s provision in the midst of tragedy, the sister-in-law wrote: \u201c<\/em>By the grace of God, kind strangers stopped to help and pulled the children from the vehicle.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 58-year-old truck driver and his 20-year-old passenger were not injured and remained at the scene.<\/p>\n

Maggs’ death has left a deep void in her community. She had worked for nine years at Parrish Medical Center, where she was known for her compassion, warmth, and dedication. The hospital posted a heartfelt tribute on Facebook, writing: \u201cOlivia\u2019s kindness, strength and gentle spirit left a lasting impact on her patients, fellow Care Partners, and everyone fortunate enough to know her. We are grieving alongside [her family] and will forever carry her memory in our hearts.\u201d<\/p>\n

The post was flooded with hundreds of comments from patients, friends, and coworkers\u2014many of them mothers who recalled Maggs\u2019 calming presence during childbirth.<\/p>\n

One woman shared: \u201cYou never forget the name and face of someone who made such a lasting impression on you. For all three of my children\u2019s births at Parrish, Olivia was one of the most encouraging and supportive nurses.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another remembered her helping to strap her newborn into a car seat for the first time: \u201cI was so anxious. She just gently stepped in and guided me.\u201d<\/p>\n

To date, a GoFundMe campaign<\/a> has raised over $126,000 to support Olivia\u2019s husband and children. The fundraiser describes her as \u201ca kind, beautiful soul\u2014a loving and gentle mother, devoted wife, and cherished daughter, sister, friend, and compassionate nurse.\u201d<\/p>\n

Though this tragic accident has left a family shattered, it has also drawn a wave of support and prayer from across the country. As one commenter wrote, \u201cHer life was a blessing. Her memory a treasure. She is loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.\u201d<\/p>\n
