\u201cI am a comedian, and even though faith is a big part of my life, sometimes things just pop out of my mouth,\u201d he laughed. \u201cIt\u2019s kind of like an old person where there\u2019s not really a filter. There have been moments when I started saying something and I go \u201cI don\u2019t know if I should say this or not.\u201d But humor is a very big part of it and I often argued one of our failures as people of faith is a lot of us don\u2019t have a lot of joy.\u201d<\/p>\n

The smash hit on Game Show Network kicks off on May 22nd<\/sup> heading into its third season and is expected to embrace new colorful characters, laughs, and shows faith programming can succeed on secular networks. Foxworthy\u2019s show is a top performer.<\/p>\n

That doesn\u2019t surprise this Georgia boy.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019re seeing more biblical movies. Maybe I\u2019m lucky where I live you see faith pretty visible in the deep the South,\u201d Foxworthy said. \u201cIn LA you don\u2019t necessarily see that many billboards Do you need Jesus?\u201d<\/p>\n

Maybe not, people in general are familiar with the Bible, and Foxworthy believes this is the reason for the show\u2019s success.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s kind of like \u201cAre You Smarter than a Fifth Grader?\u201d Everybody can answer the first grade questions and then it gets tougher as it goes along.\u201d<\/p>\n

Foxworthy, who has volunteered at a homeless shelter for years said he took the job with the stipulation that the winners don\u2019t keep the money, but donate it to their favorite charity.<\/p>\n

\u201cFaith just talked about gets boring pretty quickly, but when you can see it in people\u2019s lives and you can see it changing other people\u2019s lives, then to me, it gets interesting.\u201d<\/p>\n

You can expect more personal stories from the contestants and, yes, the unexpected. I mean it is Jeff Foxworthy, so catch him on GSN this season.<\/p>\n
