Vocalist Susan Boyle was reportedly diagnosed with Asperger\u2019s syndrome a year ago by a Scottish specialist.But she’s more than comfortable about the diagnoses and described it as \u201ca relief.\u201d<\/p>\n

Asperger\u2019s syndrome is a high-functioning form of autism it usually impedes behavioral development and creates insecurity due to raging anxiety. During her childhood, Boyle’s communication skills made her the object of taunts and she talked about the disability being from a lack of oxygen during birth.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt’s been something else. I have Asperger\u2019s,\u201d she said in a recent interview with British newspaper, The Observer<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The shy winner of Britain\u2019s Got Talent came on the scene in 2009 selling well over 14 million albums. Her diagnoses won\u2019t define her, however. The 52-year-old singer from Blackburn, Scotland believes people now will have a better understanding of her behavior. Along with fame\u2019s emotional rollercoaster ride, Boyle acknowledged God as being her stability through the chaos.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am a Roman Catholic and it’s the backbone of my life. It’s good to have that confidante. Believing in God makes you strong emotionally.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou can take anything. Sometimes if you are feeling low, God gives you the ability to pull yourself together and get on with it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Boyle made an appearance in Max Lucado\u2019s \u201cThe Christmas Candle” and a movie on her life could be in the works. Meryl Streep could be sought for the role.<\/p>\n

Along with the help from friends and family, Boyle will continue to perform.<\/p>\n
