\"Life<\/a>The new film from producer Ridley Scott and director Kevin Macdonald (who directed the must-see documentary, “Touching the Void”) is an intriguing global social experiment. Last year, through YouTube, they solicited over 4500 hours of footage from 192 different countries, all of it filmed on July 24th, 2010. The final movie is composed of those user-generated images and seeks to recreate a single day in the life of the world. It’s a time capsule preserving a brief snapshot of the human existence and it looks amazing.<\/p>\n

Says Macdonald, “It is a testament to the skill, insight and generosity of so many contributors that we have ended up with such a powerful, cohesive and emotionally engaging film \u2013 which really gives you a flavour of what it was like to be alive on 24th July 2010.\u201d<\/p>\n
