Baltimore Ravens \/ YouTube<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Nine months after a painful moment in his young career, Baltimore Ravens kicker Tyler Loop found himself on the opposite end of the emotional spectrum Sunday.<\/p>\n

Loop drilled a 56-yard field goal as time expired to give Baltimore a dramatic 34-31 victory over the Dallas Cowboys in Rio, sparking a wild celebration as his teammates rushed the field.<\/p>\n

After the game, Loop pointed beyond football, crediting God\u2019s faithfulness for carrying him through the adversity before his winning moment.<\/p>\n

\u201c[There was] a lot of adversity between last season and now \u2014 and man, God\u2019s been so faithful to me to just help me grow mentally, grow spiritually,\u201d Loop said in a postgame interview<\/a> shared by the Ravens.<\/p>\n

The moment carried extra weight because of what happened nine months earlier. In Baltimore\u2019s final game of last season, Loop missed a 44-yard field goal that would have sent the Ravens to the playoffs.<\/p>\n

Even then, Loop leaned on his Christian faith.<\/p>\n

\u201cFaith is a big part of my life,\u201d he told reporters after the loss. Loop said he had been reading Romans 8 and pointed to Romans 8:28, which says God works for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.<\/p>\n

For Loop, the verse helped put the missed kick \u2014 and his role on the team \u2014 into a larger perspective. He said his responsibility was to love and support his teammates, represent the organization well and faithfully steward the gifts he had been given.<\/p>\n

Running back Derrick Henry also encouraged Loop after the miss, telling reporters at the time that he believed God could use the disappointment for a greater purpose.<\/p>\n

\u201cGod put him in this position to use him as an example,\u201d Henry said. \u201cI can\u2019t wait to see him overcome it on the other side.\u201d<\/p>\n

On Sunday, Loop got that opportunity.<\/p>\n

He also connected the Ravens\u2019 2026 theme of \u201cone accord\u201d to scripture.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis team responded,\u201d Loop said. \u201cThere was adversity, and then we went and responded, and we delivered. It was awesome.\u201d<\/p>\n

Drafted out of Arizona in 2025, Loop has spoken openly about his Christian faith throughout his NFL career and identifies himself<\/a> as a \u201cChrist follower\u201d on social media.<\/p>\n
