“Reacher” star Alan Ritchson says Hollywood studios have been calling him with a blunt request: stop talking publicly about politics.<\/p>\n

The 43-year-old Christian actor made the revelation during an appearance at Fan Expo Canada<\/a> in Toronto, where he acknowledged that his outspoken political comments have attracted attention behind the scenes.<\/p>\n

“You know how many phone calls I get from studios like, ‘Would you shut the f\u2014 up, please? Stop talking in public,” Ritchson said while discussing what he described as his political rants.<\/p>\n

Ritchson initially appeared ready to continue, but then stopped himself.<\/p>\n

“I’m not going to do it. Sony told me not to,” he said, before adding, “Not today. Not today, Epstein.”<\/p>\n

The comment came after Ritchson publicly criticized President Donald Trump earlier this summer while discussing the government’s handling of records connected to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.<\/p>\n

The status of those records has continued to draw public and legal scrutiny. Trump signed the Epstein Files Transparency Act into law on Nov. 19, 2025. The Justice Department announced in January that it had released nearly 3.5 million pages under the law, along with thousands of videos and more than 180,000 images. The DOJ’s online Epstein Library, last updated Sept. 11, says additional documents will be posted if they are identified for release.<\/p>\n

Ritchson’s willingness to speak publicly about controversial issues is not new. The actor, who founded the faith-focused InstaChurch video ministry, has also discussed his Christian beliefs and difficult experiences from earlier in his career.<\/p>\n

During the Fan Expo appearance, he recalled reaching a particularly dark point after a business relationship fell apart. Ritchson alleged that a wealthy business partner pressured him to come to her hotel room and retaliated professionally after he refused.<\/p>\n

He said the experience left him struggling to understand why doing what he believed was right could still lead to devastating consequences.<\/p>\n

“Good has such a hard time triumphing over the wicked, evil ideas of the world,” he said while explaining some of the frustration behind his outspoken views.<\/p>\n

Ritchson has previously said he attempted suicide during that period but stopped after thinking about his three sons and what their lives would be like without their father.<\/p>\n

The experience, he said, ultimately changed his perspective on life and the importance of serving others.<\/p>\n

“I think when you become who you really are,” Ritchson said, you begin to understand “how important it is that we serve each other well.”<\/p>\n

For now, Ritchson appears well aware that studios would prefer he keep some of his opinions to himself. But judging by his comments in Toronto, staying completely silent may prove difficult for the outspoken “Reacher” star.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
