Sports Illustrated model and actress Brooks Nader is stepping into one of television\u2019s most iconic roles, but according to her, the people cheering her on the loudest may surprise fans.<\/p>\n

Nader recently opened up about joining FOX\u2019s upcoming reboot of “Baywatch” and revealed that her conservative parents fully support her role \u2014 largely because the famous red swimsuit actually fits the rules she grew up with.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, they’re pumped about \u2018Baywatch\u2019 because it’s a one-piece [swimsuit] \u2014 we weren’t allowed to wear two-piece bikinis growing up,\u201d Nader told Fox News Digital<\/em> during the 2026 FOX Upfront in New York City. \u201cSo they’re like, \u2018You’re following the family rules. You’re wearing a one-piece [swimsuit]. So, we’re all good.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

The actress will portray Selene, one of the captains of the Zuma Beach Lifeguards, in FOX\u2019s modern revival of the beloved beach drama that originally ran from 1989 to 1999. The original series launched the careers of stars like Pamela Anderson, David Hasselhoff, Carmen Electra and Donna D’Errico and became one of the most recognizable television franchises in the world.<\/p>\n

For Nader, wearing the famous red swimsuit still feels surreal.<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, I cry every time I put the red suit on, because I’m like, \u2018This is my work uniform! What?\u2019\u201d she said. \u201cAnd the wildest [reaction]? Maybe my sisters\u2019 raging jealousy when I put it on and rub it in their faces.\u201d<\/p>\n

Still, Nader admitted she feels the pressure that comes with stepping into a role closely associated with Anderson, who became a global pop culture icon during the show\u2019s original run.<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean absolutely,\u201d Nader said when asked if she was filling \u201cbig shoes.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cPamela Anderson was the muse of all muses, and she’s been on my vision board forever,\u201d she continued. \u201cSo, we’re going to pay homage to Pam and all the muses of \u2018Baywatch\u2019 to the best of our ability. Big shoes to fill. Huge.\u201d<\/p>\n

FOX appears determined to introduce the franchise to a younger audience while honoring the original series that defined an era of television. Social media personalities Noah Beck and Livvy Dunne are also attached to the reboot in various roles, something Nader believes will help generate excitement among newer viewers.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is the most exciting thrill of a lifetime,\u201d she said. \u201cI feel like there’s so much anticipation and everyone has to wait until January, but I think it’s only going to build, the momentum is going to build.\u201d<\/p>\n

Online buzz surrounding the reboot has continued to grow since FOX announced the project, with longtime fans eager to see how the series balances nostalgia with a modern update.<\/p>\n

For Nader, though, the experience still feels deeply personal. The same red swimsuit that once became a television symbol worn by Anderson is now part of her everyday routine \u2014 and meets her family\u2019s modesty standards.<\/p>\n
