Chris Pratt isn’t shy about his faith\u2014and now, he’s offering a candid warning about the dangers of fame without it.<\/p>\n

During a recent appearance<\/a> on NBC’s “Today” show, the actor opened up about life in Hollywood and why he believes success can quickly become destructive without a strong spiritual foundation. When asked how his faith has guided him in an industry not always known for it, Pratt kept his answer simple and direct.<\/p>\n

“It is what it is, man. I got a belief, and I go with it, and for the most part, it’s been amazing,” he said.<\/p>\n

But he didn’t stop there. Pratt pointed to a powerful quote from author and speaker Christine Caine that has stuck with him over the years: “If the light that shines upon you is greater than the light that’s within you, then the light that shines upon you will kill you.”<\/p>\n

For Pratt, that idea isn’t just theoretical\u2014it’s something he’s seen play out in real life.<\/p>\n

“You see it in our business,” he explained. “You see people who have the world\u2026 and they just are so unhappy.”<\/p>\n

The “Guardians of the Galaxy” star said the spotlight of fame can leave people feeling empty, unsettled, and searching for fulfillment in unhealthy places if they don’t have something deeper anchoring them.<\/p>\n

“People have this light that shines on them, and it can really make you unhappy and unsettled and turn to things that are not good for you,” Pratt said. “And so, for me, it’s really grounding, man. It’s good for me. It’s good for my family. Good for my wife, good for my life.”<\/p>\n

That grounding influence, he says, starts with putting God first\u2014a value he even highlights in his Instagram bio.<\/p>\n

Away from the spotlight, Pratt and his wife, Katherine Schwarzenegger, are intentional about building a family rooted in those same values. The couple, who married in 2019, are raising their children with a focus on simplicity and protection from the pressures of modern media.<\/p>\n

In fact, Pratt revealed that their three young children\u2014Lyla, 5, Eloise, 3, and Ford, 1\u2014haven’t watched any movies yet, not even his own.<\/p>\n

“My 5-year-old, my 3-year-old and my 1-year-old have never seen movies,” he said. “Katherine is very old school when it comes to screens and technology and all of that stuff. So, we’re waiting.”<\/p>\n

Pratt added with a smile, “There’s going to be a season\u2014they’re gonna realize their dad is really cool. They haven’t realized it yet, but one day.”<\/p>\n

While his younger kids may be unaware of his fame, his oldest son, Jack, whom he shares with ex-wife Anna Faris, has already gotten a glimpse of his father’s Hollywood world. Pratt said he recently took Jack to a screening of “The Super Mario Bros. Movie,” and the teenager “thinks it’s pretty cool.”<\/p>\n

Still, Pratt joked that at the end of the day, what matters most isn’t fame\u2014it’s family. “Jack likes me, though,” he added.<\/p>\n

For Pratt and Schwarzenegger, their shared commitment to faith has been a cornerstone of their relationship from the beginning. The couple even completed premarital counseling through their church before tying the knot, something Pratt described as incredibly valuable.<\/p>\n

In an industry often driven by fame, success, and public attention, Pratt’s message stands in contrast: without a strong inner foundation\u2014one rooted in faith\u2014those very things can become dangerous.<\/p>\n
