In footage posted by Duguay\u2019s daughter Shay Thomas, Palin is seen tenderly feeding the 68-year-old hockey legend as he lies in a hospital bed undergoing treatment. Another image shows the couple smiling together, capturing a quiet moment of warmth in the midst of a grueling fight.<\/p>\n

Duguay revealed that his cancer began more than a year ago in his colon and has since spread to his appendix and gallbladder. The illness has taken a heavy physical and financial toll, forcing him to stop working and pursue intensive care across multiple states.<\/p>\n

\u201cI find it extremely hard asking for funds for all these costs I\u2019m going through,\u201d Duguay told Page Six. \u201cNormally, I\u2019m helping others.\u201d<\/p>\n

His daughters created a GoFundMe<\/a> campaign to help cover mounting expenses \u2014 including surgeries, chemotherapy, travel between Florida and California, and potential treatments outside the United States. The fundraiser has already surpassed its original goal, reflecting the strong support surrounding the former New York Rangers star.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur dad has never been someone who asks for help\u2026especially when it comes to money,\u201d his daughters wrote. \u201cHe has always tried to handle everything on his own and didn\u2019t want to burden anyone else with what he\u2019s going through.\u201d<\/p>\n

Thomas also shared the emotional realities of watching a loved one endure cancer. \u201cCancer is so frustrating,\u201d she wrote. \u201cHonestly\u2026 nothing prepares you for what this fight really looks like until someone you love is living it every single day.\u201d<\/p>\n

She encouraged others walking similar paths with a message of faith: \u201cFor anyone else walking through this or loving someone who is\u2026 keep your faith. Keep fighting. God is still working.\u201d<\/p>\n

Duguay has been candid about how severe the disease has become, saying cancer \u201csucks the life out of you\u201d and is \u201cso freaking costly.\u201d Despite the hardship, he remains determined to keep fighting and to use what he learns to help others.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am going to do all the alternative along with the Western medicine,\u201d he said. \u201cWhat I am learning, I will be able to share with others.\u201d He added, \u201cI need to get better so I can help others.\u201d<\/p>\n

Palin and Duguay have been dating since 2022 and typically keep their relationship private. But Palin previously described their bond as deeply supportive, calling it \u201csafe and comfortable.\u201d She said Duguay is someone she can confide in about life beyond politics \u2014 a role that now extends into one of the most difficult seasons either has faced.<\/p>\n
