Former NFL star quarterback Cam Newton made some startling claims about the value of women on a recent podcast. Newton appeared on the \u201cIt\u2019s Giving<\/a>\u201d podcast hosted by Sarah Fontenot when she asked him if a woman\u2019s \u201cvalue gets lowered when they have multiple children by multiple men.\u201d \u201cI just think that the reality of that answer is that women\u2019s value gets lowered the more children that they have. I was having this conversation with one of the mothers of my children and she\u2019s still fine. Like, I was telling her, \u2018The guy that you\u2019re dating or will date, if he ain\u2019t willing to love on these five children that you have, he ain\u2019t the guy for you,\u2019\u201d said Newton. Newton has nine children of his own from three different women, with the women also having children from other relationships.<\/p>\n

Newton shared about speaking with his ex about the difficulties of finding a man willing to accept other kids that aren\u2019t his. \u201cBecause when I came into your life, I was willing to accept you and whatever you had and there\u2019s guys that\u2019s out there that\u2019s going to say, \u2018Them ain\u2019t my kids. I want you.\u2019 Well, that ain\u2019t how that works. But that\u2019s not to say you can\u2019t find nobody. I\u2019m pretty sure she has somebody,\u201d he said. He added that despite relationship issues, there is an unbreakable bound with the mothers of his children. \u201cI will forever be indebted to them because no matter how they make me feel, once I come back to the ground of, \u2018Yo, that\u2019s still the mother of my children,\u2019\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Reality TV star Monique Samuels of the \u201cReal Housewives of Potomac,\u201d slammed Newton\u2019s comments. \u201cI think that he is projecting and he\u2019s talking about the women who\u2019ve had his children. I would have definitely felt some kind of way if I had one of his kids,\u201d she said<\/a>. She suggested that Newton \u201cmight wanna get his brain checked.\u201d \u201cHe was raised by his mother and his grandmother. He had women that were strong in his life,\u201d she said. \u201cSo, to even make statements like that is just so rude and so off.\u201d Samuels insisted the opposite about a woman\u2019s value. \u201cWomen gain value when you have children,\u201d she said. \u201cThere\u2019s nothing wrong with that.
