As authorities continue searching for her missing mother,\u00a0Savannah Guthrie\u00a0is leaning even more deeply on her faith \u2014 and publicly pleading for proof that her mother is still alive.<\/p>\n

In an emotional video shared on Instagram Wednesday, the\u00a0Today<\/em> co-host appeared alongside her sister, Annie, and brother, Camron, issuing a direct appeal to anyone responsible for the disappearance of their mother, 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie. While acknowledging reports of a ransom demand, Guthrie said her family is prepared to talk \u2014 but only after receiving confirmation that their mother is safe.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe, too, have heard the reports about a ransom letter in the media,\u201d Guthrie said. \u201cAs a family, we are doing everything that we can. We are ready to talk. However, we live in a world where voices and images are easily manipulated. We need to know, without a doubt, that she\u2019s alive and that you have her.\u201d<\/p>\n

Authorities say Nancy Guthrie was taken from her home near Tucson, Arizona, sometime between late Saturday night and early Sunday morning. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos told\u00a0The New York Times<\/em> that investigators believe she was taken against her will. While no suspects have been\u00a0identified, law enforcement has confirmed that multiple unverified ransom communications are under investigation.<\/p>\n

Speaking with CBS News, Nanos said at least one ransom note sent to a local television station is being treated as potential evidence. \u201cIt\u2019s like any piece of evidence,\u201d he said. \u201cYou give it to us, you give us a lead, we\u2019re going to look at every aspect of that lead.\u201d<\/p>\n

The case has now drawn national attention. In a statement posted Wednesday night, Donald Trump said he personally spoke with Guthrie and directed federal authorities to assist.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am directing ALL Federal Law Enforcement to be at the family\u2019s, and Local Law Enforcement\u2019s, complete disposal, IMMEDIATELY,\u201d the president wrote, adding that the nation\u2019s prayers are with the Guthrie family.<\/p>\n

Even amid fear and uncertainty, Guthrie\u2019s public words remain anchored in faith.<\/p>\n

In her video appeal, she described her mother as a \u201ckind, faithful, loyal, fiercely loving woman of goodness and light,\u201d noting that Nancy has grandchildren who adore her and a fragile heart condition that requires daily medication \u2014 medication she does not currently have.<\/p>\n

\u201cMommy,\u201d Guthrie said through tears, \u201cyou are God\u2019s precious daughter, Nancy. We believe and know that even in this valley, He is with you.\u201d<\/p>\n

She went on to express gratitude for the prayers pouring in from across the country. \u201cWe feel them,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd we continue to believe that she feels them too.\u201d<\/p>\n

That posture of faith is consistent with what Guthrie has long shared publicly. Earlier this week, she reposted a simple image reading \u201cPlease Pray,\u201d accompanied by a caption affirming her belief in the power of collective prayer and God\u2019s presence even in suffering. She has previously spoken about how her faith sustained her after the loss of her father, saying, \u201cThis is when I need God the most.\u201d<\/p>\n

As investigators continue their search and the family waits for answers, Guthrie\u2019s message\u00a0remains\u00a0one of hope \u2014 not denial of fear, but trust in God amid it.<\/p>\n
