In a moment that echoed one of the most humbling scenes in scripture, several Baltimore Ravens players stepped away from the spotlight of professional football to model the servant leadership of Jesus Christ\u2014by kneeling to wash the feet of local schoolchildren.<\/p>\n

NFL stars Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry joined teammates Zay Flowers and others Monday at Severn Elementary School in Maryland for a special outreach event that combined practical generosity with a profound spiritual message. The gathering included lessons on personal finance, sponsored by M&T Bank and EVERFI, as well as the gift of brand-new shoes to students. But it was the quiet, reverent act of foot washing that left the deepest impression.<\/p>\n

“Ravens players served students today by washing their feet and providing them with new shoes,” the team shared in a post on Instagram. “These acts of service, led by our team chaplain, represent the importance of humility and serving others.”<\/p>\n
