Michelle Pfeiffer is embracing a new season of life \u2014 one filled with family and a renewed sense of purpose. The 67-year-old actress says she\u2019s looking forward to taking most of 2026 off to spend more time with her loved ones, especially her first grandchild.<\/p>\n

In a recent interview with Fox News Digital<\/em>, Pfeiffer shared how becoming a grandmother last year to her daughter Claudia\u2019s baby has changed her outlook. \u201cI am feeling very blessed for the opportunities that are presenting themselves to me and loving the work,\u201d she said. \u201cHowever, little did I know my daughter was planning on getting pregnant, which she did successfully.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pfeiffer, who shares daughter Claudia Rose, 32, and son John, 31, with husband and TV producer David E. Kelley, said she\u2019s ready to slow down after a busy run of film projects. \u201cI think I\u2019m going to have probably most of next year off, which I\u2019m really looking forward to,\u201d she admitted. \u201cLook, it\u2019s an embarrassment of riches, honestly. It\u2019s like, \u2018wah.\u2019 I\u2019m just really wanting my choices and the way I spend my time \u2014 whatever time I have left \u2014 to spend it meaningfully is what I\u2019m focusing on.\u201d<\/p>\n

The “Ant-Man” and the “Wasp” star reflected that her priorities have shifted in this stage of life. \u201cI don\u2019t have time nor the desire to go that deep for that long and not be present,\u201d she said on the SmartLess<\/em> podcast. \u201cI realize I have a finite amount of time left and… I became a grandmother last year. I\u2019ve been very quiet about it, and it is \u2014 it\u2019s heaven. It\u2019s ridiculous.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added that if she\u2019d known she was about to become a grandmother, she might have taken on less work. \u201cIf I had known that I was going to be a grandmother, I wouldn\u2019t have taken on so much work, but I\u2019ve enjoyed everything, and I\u2019m really grateful,\u201d Pfeiffer said. \u201cI\u2019ve loved each of these projects. And so the weird thing is that giving up that angst about the process has freed me up and I feel in some ways has made me better.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pfeiffer stars in the new Christmas comedy “Oh. What. Fun.,” streaming globally on Prime Video beginning December 3, 2025. The film, which also features Felicity Jones, celebrates the mothers who hold their families together through the chaos of the holidays. Pfeiffer said she was drawn to the project because of its heart. \u201cIt\u2019s like really this love letter to moms,\u201d she explained. \u201cThis movie is celebrating those women. And it\u2019s nice to get acknowledged for it.\u201d<\/p>\n
