New England Patriots rookie TreVeyon Henderson had every reason to celebrate after Thursday night’s standout performance \u2014 but as soon as the cameras turned his way, he made sure the glory went somewhere else.<\/p>\n

Moments after helping lead the Patriots to a 27\u201314 victory over the New York Jets, Henderson was asked live on national television to describe how he felt. Instead of talking solely about football, he immediately pointed to his faith. “It feels great,” he told Prime Video. “I’ve just been staying patient, trusting the Lord’s plan \u2013 just continue to do my part, and the rest I just leave up to Him. And so I’m thankful that I was able to come out here, and He allowed me to have this success. But I’m so weak without Him. And you know \u2013 I really mean this from my heart \u2013 I can’t do it without Jesus.”<\/p>\n

It was a powerful moment from one of the NFL’s most outspoken young believers, punctuating a night where his play spoke just as loudly as his words. Henderson scored three straight touchdowns in the first half \u2014 two rushing and one on a pass from quarterback Drake Maye \u2014 helping New England jump to a commanding 21\u20137 lead. By the end of the night, he had rushed 19 times for 62 yards and added 31 receiving yards on five catches. The Patriots improved to 9\u20132, continuing their surprising climb after last season’s disappointing 4\u201313 finish.<\/p>\n

Henderson, a fifth-round draft pick out of Ohio State, is no stranger to big moments or faith-centered locker rooms. At OSU, he was part of a national championship run where faith bonded players so deeply that crosses were engraved on their championship rings. That journey is now being highlighted in a new Wonder Project docuseries<\/a>, Redemption<\/em>, which follows the 2024 Buckeyes’ spiritual foundation.<\/p>\n

On Thursday, Henderson praised the teammates blocking for him just as quickly as he praised God. He credited the Patriots’ offensive line for paving the way, saying they “make my job easier,” and emphasized that the team’s mindset remains rooted in humility. “We just want to stay humble and just continue to put the work in,” he said.<\/p>\n

Henderson’s boldness for Christ extends far beyond postgame interviews. Scroll through his Instagram<\/a> feed, and his faith is unmistakable. His bio reads, “Jesus Saved My Life | Follower of Jesus Christ | Running Back,” and the majority of his posts highlight Scripture, testimonies, and reminders of God’s grace. In September, he posted a photo wearing a T-shirt with the message “Jesus Saves,” writing a heartfelt caption about Christ’s sacrifice: “Jesus laid down His life for you and me and shed His blood to pay the price that we deserve to pay for our sins\u2026 Through this, we can be forgiven and we can receive eternal life and enter the Kingdom of Heaven if we repent and have faith in Jesus Christ.”<\/p>\n
