After a hard-fought 26\u201322 victory over Texas Tech, Arizona State University wide receiver Jordyn Tyson stepped into the pressroom<\/a> wearing a simple white T-shirt that spoke volumes: “Jesus Won.”<\/p>\n

For Tyson, those two words summarize everything about his life and his purpose. “I’m just diving into my faith completely,” the 21-year-old athlete told reporters. “As much as I get into the Word and learn the Word, it kind of just elevates my life in every way possible.”<\/p>\n

Tyson, who transferred to ASU from the University of Colorado, said the Bible has become his foundation both on and off the field. “The Bible is the instructions to life,” he explained. “My faith is everything. I feel like it’s the reason why I took that next step this summer season. It’s the reason why I’m more locked in during the week.”<\/p>\n

He added that he and several teammates have started studying Scripture together. “It’s everything to us,” Tyson said. “People pray before the game, but off the field\u2014why wouldn’t you praise Him as well?”<\/p>\n

Tyson’s renewed focus on faith began last year when he joined the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and began surrounding himself with teammates who were serious about their walk with Christ.<\/p>\n

“When I was little, we went to church every Sunday,” Tyson said in a recent episode of The Walk podcast. “Then we stopped for a few years, and I never really knew much about the Word.”<\/p>\n

But college football gave him more than an athletic platform\u2014it introduced him to a community of believers who helped reignite his spiritual life. “I met guys on the team going to FCA, and it just felt right,” he shared. “That’s what I truly wanted to do. I feel like my identity’s not a football player\u2014my identity’s in Christ.”<\/p>\n

Tyson was baptized in March, a moment he describes as a turning point. “I feel like He’s changed my ways and my life in miraculous ways,” he said. “I don’t know where I’d be without Him. Jumping into my faith was the best decision of my life.”<\/p>\n

Tyson’s now-signature “Jesus Won” shirt has become more than a slogan\u2014it’s a testimony. “Man, He paid the price on the cross,” Tyson said. “He won for us.”<\/p>\n

Reflecting on his journey through sports injuries and personal struggles, Tyson said he now views those trials as part of God’s refining process. “I feel like God truly put all these trials and tribulations in my life to better me,” he said. “He talks about that all throughout the Bible\u2014trials that lead to maturity.”<\/p>\n

Tyson believes his faith has not only shaped him as a player but also given him a higher calling to influence others. “I didn’t give Him credit early enough,” he admitted. “He gave me this talent. Jesus really blessed me with a lot\u2014the ability to lead people the right way.”<\/p>\n

Whether he’s catching passes or sharing his story, Jordyn Tyson says the message behind his T-shirt is the one he hopes everyone hears: “Jesus already won the victory\u2014and I just want to live like I believe that.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
