\u201cThe Chosen\u201d universe is expanding, and with it, so is one Emmy-winning actor\u2019s opportunity to put his faith in action. Actor Paul Walter Hauser has had a very productive career as a scene-stealing character actor such as the role of Stingray in the \u201cCobra Kai\u201d series, the more serious role of the titular character \u201cRichard Jewell,\u201d and the role of Mole Man in \u201cFantastic Four: First Steps.\u201d Now, he\u2019s putting his faith on the screen as he joins the cast of the new \u201cThe Chosen Adventures,\u201d a new animated series that looks at the story of Jesus through the eyes of 9-year-old Abby and her friend, Sheep, voiced by Hauser.<\/p>\n

For Hauser, it\u2019s an opportunity to put his faith on display. \u201cI’m just really proud to be open about being a Christian person. For me in Hollywood, it’s always been something I’ve been open about. But this is a little more of a way to really plant a flag in the ground and say, ‘Yeah, I want to work with Margot Robbie and Spike Lee, but I also want to work with the folks from ‘The Chosen,\u2019” he told The Christian Post<\/em><\/a> in an interview. He praised the first three episodes of the show and said he liked doing something a little different.<\/p>\n

Having already been a fan of the main \u201cThe Chosen\u201d series helmed by Dallas Jenkins, Hauser said he jumped at the chance to become a part of it. \u201cI was a big fan of ‘The Chosen’ live-action show, and then when I heard they were doing this, they offered me the role of Sheep. And I was like, ‘Dude, absolutely, it’s funny. It’s well written, and it has this even higher calling and purpose than most things.’\u201d He went on to praise how faith-based films have improved and expanded throughout the last few years, giving actors like him an opportunity to join in.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Crosswalk<\/em>,<\/a> Hauser spoke about what sharing his Christian faith. \u201cThere is almost a weird, unhealthy fear of talking about faith. I just kind of have always talked about it. It\u2019s just been normal to me my whole life,\u201d he said. \u201cMaybe it\u2019s that verse about, you know, not being ashamed of the gospel. I was always more afraid to not speak up about God than to speak about God. Hopefully, whether you\u2019re Christian or Muslim or anything \u2014 I just hope people can own what it is they believe and find a healthy way to talk about it.\u201d<\/p>\n

He praised the show for humanizing Jesus and said he hoped it would encourage viewers to seek a personal relationship with God. \u201cA parent who loves his children is going to invite the conversation. So, I hope it just reminds people the phone is never on airplane mode with the Lord. You can go to God any time and talk about any old thing. You can\u2019t offend God. You can\u2019t surprise God. God has been there, done that. But what God does want is [us to] love your neighbor, love God. And part of loving someone is staying in contact and seeking them.\u201d<\/p>\n
