And we did that . . .\u00a0 in ways I couldn\u2019t have imagined,\u201d Moore wrote on his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DPeQrPvjtd5\/?img_index=3\">Instagram.<\/a> \u201cI know there may be press and conversation around certain business matters that my legal team is handling, but my heart, my energy, and my focus are on what\u2019s ahead.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Behind the scenes, however, things have gotten a lot messier, with Moore filing a 33-page <a href=\"https:\/\/dockets.justia.com\/docket\/georgia\/gandce\/1:2025cv05635\/350110\">lawsuit<\/a> against MCM, its CEO and Moore\u2019s former manager, Norman Gyamfi, as well as the group\u2019s label, TRIBL Records. Moore accuses Gyamfi of a number of crimes, including forging his signature on a publishing agreement between MCM and Sony Music Entertainment. Moore also accuses Gyamfi and his associates of withholding $800,000 in royalties from him. \u201cDespite the fiduciary duties he owed to Moore, Gyamfi went on to secretly transfer Moore\u2019s ownership and copyright interests in his works to Maverick City Music as well as broker a deal to convey Moore\u2019s master recordings of songs created with Maverick City to the Orchard, a Sony Music Entertainment entity,\u201d the suit alleges.<\/p>\n<p>While Gyamfi has not directly addressed the claims, his business partner and MCM co-owner, Jonathan Jay, issued a statement on Instagram <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DPjkrRrjhcN\/?hl=en&amp;img_index=3\">denying all accusations<\/a>. \u201cTo be clear: the claims being made against me, against Norman, and against our companies are categorically false. These aren&#8217;t misunderstandings. These are calculated attempts to strong-arm a way out of agreements Chandler made freely and later breached,\u201d he wrote, accusing Moore of \u201ca pattern of avoided \u00a0accountability, unresolved conflicts passed off to others, and a history of others being forced to carry the weight of consequences never owned.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Moore\u2019s exit coincided with the exit of another group member, Naomi Raine. Raine has not alluded to any of the issues that Moore accuses Gyamfi of, rather <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DPeUajTjbGk\/?hl=en&amp;img_index=1\">saying<\/a> she doesn\u2019t \u201cregret one single thing.\u201d \u201c\u00a0I\u2019ve learned so much about God, about people and about myself \u2013 and I will always carry those lessons with me,\u201d she wrote.
