After nearly two decades together, Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban\u2014one of Hollywood\u2019s most admired power couples\u2014have separated. Multiple outlets have confirmed the split, which comes after 19 years of marriage and two daughters together.<\/p>\n

The news first broke through TMZ<\/em>, with insiders revealing that the Oscar-winning actress and the country music star have been \u201cliving apart since the beginning of summer.\u201d Kidman, 58, and Urban, 57, share two daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14.<\/p>\n

A source close to the family told Page Six<\/em>, \u201cSometimes relationships just run their course.\u201d The insider added that Kidman \u201cdid not want the separation and was trying to save things,\u201d but Urban had reportedly moved out of their Nashville home and purchased another property nearby.<\/p>\n

The couple\u2019s busy careers may have been part of the strain. Urban is currently on his High and Alive<\/em> tour across the U.S. and Canada, while Kidman has been filming overseas. A source told the Daily Mail<\/em>, \u201cKeith never sees Nicole, either she is filming or he is on tour. There was a lot of love between the two and they might not divorce, but there is a world that they both live where neither of them are in it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another insider added that Kidman was \u201cblindsided\u201d by Urban\u2019s unhappiness. \u201cThe intimacy isn\u2019t there, they are just going through the motions,\u201d the source said. \u201cIf this separation gets them back together, that would be amazing, but Keith had to call her out that he isn\u2019t happy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Kidman has reportedly been caring for their daughters. \u201c[Kidman is] holding the family together through this difficult time since Keith has been gone,\u201d a source told Page Six<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Even before the separation was revealed, there were signs of big changes ahead. Over the summer,\u00a0Kidman had applied for residency in Portugal. Urban\u2019s name was not included on the form, sparking speculation. At the time, a source explained, \u201cKeith was unable to be in Portugal for this appointment as he is currently on tour in the U.S., and it is mandatory for applicants to be physically present in order to apply for the visa. He is scheduled to submit his application at a later date that works with his tour schedule.\u201d<\/p>\n

Adding to the speculation, the Daily Mail<\/em> reported that Kidman had been staying at a stately London home while filming the sequel to Practical Magic<\/em>. The mansion\u2014once owned by Boy George\u2014was reportedly costing the actress over $87,000 a month. Sources suggested she was \u201cgetting comfortable\u201d in the new home.<\/p>\n

Kidman and Urban tied the knot in June 2006 after meeting at the G\u2019Day USA gala in January 2005. Through the years, they often spoke openly about their commitment to raising their children in Nashville, away from Hollywood\u2019s spotlight. \u201cMy roots are deeply embedded here,\u201d Kidman told People<\/em> in 2019. \u201cOur house is always full of kids. Sometimes we have eight kids over for dinner after school. I\u2019m so grateful.\u201d<\/p>\n
