Nickelodeon alum Kel Mitchell got to celebrate his eight-year-old daughter in a special way on her birthday by baptizing her. Mitchell is best known as part of the duo of the popular \u201cKenan and Kel\u201d show and for his role as Ed in Good Burger<\/em>. What may not be as well-known is that since his Nickelodeon days, Mitchell has become a Christian and became a youth pastor in 2019.<\/p>\n

Mitchell shared about the special moment of baptizing his daughter, Widsom, on Instagram<\/a>. \u201cThis weekend you gave me the greatest gift\u2014I watched you get baptized and I cried tears of joy. A moment I\u2019ll never forget,\u201d he wrote. He added that the family celebrated Wisdom with some of her favorite things, including the Smurfs <\/em>movie and some pancakes. \u201cWisdom, you are smart, strong, silly, kind, and beautifully YOU. Daddy loves you so much! Keep shining, baby girl,\u201d Mitchell concluded.<\/p>\n

Mitchell\u2019s wife, rapper Asia Lee-Mitchell shared a video of the moment on her Instagram<\/a> as well. \u201cWizzy did something I am beyond proud of. She gave her life to Christ and asked to be Baptized for her Birthday! What!!\u201d she wrote. The video showed Mitchell and the head pastor of his church, Garry Zeigler, standing beside an exuberant Wisdom as she prepares to announce her faith. Zeigler can be heard asking young Widsom, \u201cHave you made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ?” which Wisdom affirms. \u201cBased upon your profession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, we now baptize you in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit in Jesus’ name,\u201d Pastor Zeigler announces.<\/p>\n

Mitchell has four children. His two oldest, Lyric, 26, and Allure, 23, he shares with his ex-wife Tyisha Hampton. The pair married in 1999 but divorced in 2005 after Mitchell alleged Hampton partook in numerous affairs<\/a>. He married Asia Lee in 2012, and they have two children: Wisdom,8, and Honor, 4. Both Honor and Wisdom appeared in Good Burger 2,<\/em> where Mitchell reprised his role as Ed. Mitchell has shared that his children are his \u201cbiggest fans<\/a>.\u201d He refers to fatherhood as \u201cawesome.\u201d \u201cKids have so much honesty,\u201d he said in a past interview<\/a>. \u201cAnd I love the fact that they love what I do and they\u2019re excited about it and that makes me happy.
