Kermit the Frog\u2019s dream has always been to spread joy and happiness, and that\u2019s exactly what he did with a recent visit to a graduation ceremony.<\/p>\n

The beloved green amphibian delivered\u00a0a commencement speech to the University of Maryland\u2019s<\/a>\u00a0class of 2025 on Thursday, where he was met with resounding applause. Draped in what the Muppet himself described as \u201ca very tiny cap and gown,\u201d he delivered words of encouragement and inspiration, along with a forecast with a \u201c100% chance of frog.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI am honored to share some words of wisdom about three things that are close to my heart: finding your people, taking the leap, and making connections,\u201d Kermit said.<\/p>\n

The green legend noted that Muppets creator Jim Henson,\u00a0who died in 1990<\/a>, attended the institution.<\/p>\n

The school\u2019s campus boasts a\u00a0statue of the man and frog<\/a>\u00a0sitting on a bench, apparently deep in conversation.<\/p>\n

Kermit said Henson taught him about \u201cfinding your people\u201d and taught him that \u201cwhat\u2019s unique about you should always be shared.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is no guarantee that the show is always good or that it\u2019ll go off without a hitch, or it doesn\u2019t have its, uh, hecklers,\u201d he said. \u201cBut the show must go on. And if you\u2019re with your people, then you won\u2019t have to do it alone, because life is not a solo act.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kermit went on to discuss the importance of friendship and community, and reminded graduates to \u201calways be on the lookout for old friends you\u2019ve just met.\u201d<\/p>\n

The character then hopped into his second theme \u2014 \u201ctaking the leap\u201d \u2014 and continued to offer more sage words of wisdom to anyone who was willing to \u201ctake advice from a frog.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cRather than jumping over someone to get what you want, consider reaching out your hand, and taking the leap side by side,\u201d he advised. \u201cLife is better when we leap together.\u201d<\/p>\n

Finally, the Muppet spoke about the importance of staying connected \u2014 to your people, your values and your purpose.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf I know a thing, it\u2019s important to stay connected to your loved ones, stay connected to your friends and most of all, stay connected to your dreams,\u201d the amphibian concluded.<\/p>\n
