Kathy Ireland went to great lengths to meet her future husband.<\/p>\n

At the MovieGuide Awards, Kathy Ireland shared a story on the red carpet about how she pursued her husband, Dr. Greg Olsen, before they had even officially met.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was having lunch with my mom who was a nurse, saw this cute guy walk by, and it turns out he was a doctor in his residency,\u201d she said. \u201cSo, I go back to the hospital, mom would find out his beeper code, and we\u2019d wait around [and] just go to the different floors where we thought we might find him.\u201d<\/p>\n

She admitted, \u201c[I] felt like a big loser, because it just wasn\u2019t happening, but you gotta be patient. Two months, and it worked.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kathy and Greg have been married since 1988 and have three children: Erik, Lily, and Chloe.<\/p>\n

In December, Ireland posted a nostalgic photo of herself and Greg, acknowledging her stalking efforts while praising him.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter two months of stalking (thanks for helping Mom!) I got my first date with Greg! 38 years later this man continues to fill my heart,\u201d Ireland wrote.<\/p>\n

She also included a picture of a note from Greg, featuring their initials inside a heart.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter a hard day, I opened the door to find his sweet note!\u201d she shared, adding, \u201cHe actually wrote his note at each door of our home! Don\u2019t stress buying gifts, the best ones are not purchased with money, they are given from the heart.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ireland celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary on in August of last year, expressing, \u201cThank you for blessing me more than I could have dreamed. You are my priceless treasure, Prince Charming and the best catch ever! I love you more each day. I thank God for you.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI married a great guy. I stalked him for two months before I met him, my mom helped me. That was wonderful,\u201d Ireland said on the red carpet, revealing that the secret to their long-lasting relationship is that it\u2019s not a contract, it\u2019s a covenant with God at the center.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, there are days where I\u2019m not lovable, there\u2019s days where he\u2019s not lovable, but we made a promise not only to each other but to the Lord, so that is the key to our marriage.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ireland discovered her faith when she was 18, during a modeling trip in Paris.<\/p>\n

Alone in her hotel room, she opened a Bible in the middle of the night and felt her life forever changed.<\/p>\n

\u201cI didn’t know how to read it. And I was a rebellious teenager questioning who really knows the truth, who really knows what’s right or wrong. And as I read, I just knew that what I was holding in my hands was the truth and my life forever changed,\u201d Ireland said.<\/p>\n

She added, recalling, \u201cJesus was nothing like I thought. I was listening to other people’s soundbites about who He was and what the Bible said.\u201d<\/p>\n

At this year\u2019s MovieGuide Awards, Ireland presented the Faith and Freedom Award for movies, emphasizing their importance in her life.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe all need to have the freedom to be who we are to express that and my faith in Jesus, if not for that relationship, I certainly wouldn\u2019t be here tonight. I don\u2019t know where I\u2019d be. I\u2019d be a mess. A big, big mess,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

The 61-year-old also commended the announcement that Jon Voight, Sylvester Stallone, and Mel Gibson would be acting as special envoys to Hollywood, as announced by President Donald Trump in January.<\/p>\n
