After years of anticipation, Beyonc\u00e9 has officially secured the coveted Album of the Year award at the 2025 Grammy Awards, marking a historic moment in her legendary career. The win comes after four previous nominations in the category, making this victory all the more significant.<\/p>\n

Beyonc\u00e9’s album Cowboy Carter<\/em> dominated the night, earning 11 nominations\u2014the most of any artist this year\u2014bringing her total career nominations to an unprecedented 99, making her the most-nominated artist in Grammy history. In addition to Album of the Year, she also took home awards for Best Country Album.<\/p>\n

The singer dedicated her award to Linda Martell, one of the pioneers for black musicians in country music and the first black woman to perform solo at the Grand Ole Opry (Ms Martell features on several of Cowboy Carter’s songs).<\/p>\n

“I hope we just keep pushing forward [and] opening doors,” Beyonc\u00e9 continued. “God bless y’all. Thank you so much.”<\/p>\n

The star’s victory comes 25 years after her first Grammy nomination as part of the R&B group Destiny’s Child.<\/p>\n

Other big winners included Kendrick Lamar, who swept all five categories he was nominated in, including Record of the Year and Song of the Year. Rising star Chappell Roan also had a breakthrough night, winning Best New Artist.<\/p>\n

The ceremony, hosted by Trevor Noah for the fifth consecutive year, featured standout performances from Billie Eilish, Charli XCX, Sabrina Carpenter, and Chappell Roan, while The Weeknd surprised fans by returning to the stage after previously boycotting the awards.<\/p>\n

Beyond the music, the show also took a moment to acknowledge the devastating Los Angeles wildfires that claimed at least 29 lives and destroyed numerous homes and businesses. Noah urged viewers to donate to relief efforts, and a group of LA firefighters received a standing ovation as they presented the final award of the night.<\/p>\n

The 2025 Grammy Awards aired live from the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles last night on CBS. A full list of winners follows.<\/p>\n
