It\u2019s a reminder for us to keep our eyes\u00a0on Him and who He is,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>As worship music has surged in popularity, the Johnsons reflected on its ability to meet people where they are, especially in difficult times. &#8220;I think when people are going through stuff, &#8216;nice&#8217; or &#8216;cool&#8217; songs don\u2019t really work,&#8221; Brian said. &#8220;Worship brings the presence of God, and that\u2019s what people need. It\u2019s an anchor.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGod Problems\u201d from Maverick City Music won Contemporary Gospel Recorded Song of the Year. Artist KB took home the award for Rap\/Hip-Hop Album of the Year for\u00a0<em>His Glory Alone II.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI got the honor this year to come to the Doves with my lovely mother,\u201d KB said. \u201cThe doctors told her when I was a baby I would not be able to talk, and if I could, I would not talk well. My mother told them they were wrong. She\u2019s exemplified this resilient stubborn faith that believes God can do more than what the reports say.\u201d Turning to his mother, he said, \u201cI dedicate this award to you. You have represented a fighter for me my entire life. You fought for me when I was far from Jesus when I did not believe in God. And here I am right now as the fruit of your labor.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cChristian Hip Hop is an often overlooked entity,&#8221; he added. &#8220;Something is happening in the mainstream right now. They are paying attention to what is going on. It\u2019s something that isn\u2019t just music, this is a movement. People are coming to Christ. Marriages are being saved. Folks are finding themselves in these Gospel representations. As the world is watching, give them Jesus.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.christianpost.com\/news\/unsung-hero-captures-spirit-of-faith-and-music-review.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cUnsung Hero,\u201d\u00a0<\/a>a film about Rebecca St. James and Joel and Luke Smallbone of For King &amp; Country, and their life journey to become Christian recording artists, won Feature Film of the Year, beating out \u201cOrdinary Angels,\u201d \u201cThe Blind,\u201d \u201cJourney to Bethlehem\u201d and \u201cSound of Freedom.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Reflecting on the nomination, Joel shared: \u201cWe\u2019ve spent over a decade working on music, but filmmaking is something we\u2019ve stepped into as a family here and there. This project, with Luke producing and me playing our dad, is our first legitimate foray into the film world. It\u2019s such a personal story, and we\u2019re really excited. Filmmaking, for us, is all about the ensemble, our parents and the entire team coming together.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Smallbone brothers told <em>The Christian Post<\/em> they have been overwhelmed by the response to the film: \u201cWe wanted to do this film because so many people think they need a platform or worldly success to make an impact,\u201d Luke said. \u201cOur hope is that \u2018Unsung Hero\u2019 redefines success. If you want to change the world, go home and love your family. That has a lasting legacy. It gave people hope again, particularly parents who realize that what they do at home matters more than they might think.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The duo, who walked the carpet with their wives, added that staying grounded in their faith and identity in Christ remains a priority, especially with the growing demands and temptations of the industry.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey say a cord of three strands is not easily broken, but four is even better. It\u2019s all about team sport \u2014 life is team sport, community, partnership, and balance. We get out of balance, just like everyone else, but we\u2019ve stuck it out through thick and thin,\u201d Joel said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m really proud of us. From Moria and me meeting at Luke and Courtney\u2019s wedding 14 years ago to today, we\u2019re better versions of ourselves because we\u2019ve stood by each other \u2014 and that\u2019s thanks to God and our commitment to each other.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Other notable winners of the night included Christine D&#8217;Clario, who won Spanish Language Recorded Song of the Year for \u201cTantas Historias;\u201d Ernie Haase &amp; Signature Sound won Southern Gospel Recorded Song of the Year for \u201cUntil We Fly Away\u201d and Melvin Crispell III won Traditional Gospel Recorded Song of the Year for \u201cGod Is (Radio Edit).&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Crispel told <em>The Christian Post<\/em> that when creating music, he \u201calways starts with Scripture,\u201d adding: \u201cA melody can come to you and I record that melody, but then I ask myself, \u2018What do I want to talk about?\u2019 That&#8217;s what leads me to Scripture, whether it&#8217;s something I went through, a testimony, how does that relate to Scripture, and what is the message I want to relay through this song? That&#8217;s really the catalyst for songwriting. I&#8217;m still developing as a songwriter. I&#8217;ve got a long way to go, but I&#8217;m grateful for the process.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Grammy-nominated singer said his music gives listeners a \u201csneak peek\u201d into his personal worship with God.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s all about knowing and remembering why you do what you do, what you were created to do, and that Jesus is at the forefront,\u201d he said. \u201cEvery time you minister, the goal should be Jesus.
