Rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels made NFL history on Monday night, but instead of reveling in personal accolades, he was quick to give all the credit to God. After leading the Washington Commanders to a thrilling 38-33 upset win over the Cincinnati Bengals, Daniels gave a post-game interview on ESPN where he made it clear who was responsible for his success.<\/p>\n

“I can’t do nothing without Him,” Daniels said with humility, following a performance that saw him complete 21 of 23 passes for 238 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for another score, raising the Commanders’ record to 2-1 and shocking a league that had pegged the team as being in a rebuilding year. Daniels’ completion percentage of 91.3 percent set a new record for rookie quarterbacks, further solidifying his place as one of the league’s rising stars.<\/p>\n

Despite the buzz surrounding his historic achievement, Daniels redirected all praise to God. “We’re just executing at a high level,” Daniels said before adding, “I give credit to my o-line, give credit to my receivers, my running backs, and most importantly, give credit to God. I wouldn’t be here without Him.”<\/p>\n

When told he had set an NFL rookie record, Daniels simply responded, “That’s crazy. Give glory to God. I wouldn’t be in this business without Him. So I can’t do nothing without Him.”<\/p>\n
