Two-time Grammy award-winning artist Justin Bieber recently opened up about his relationship with Jesus. He said, \u201cI believed in Jesus, but I never really like, you know when it says following Jesus is actually turning away from sin. What it talks about in the Bible it\u2019s like there\u2019s no obedience. There\u2019s no faith without obedience, so it\u2019s like I had faith about like, \u2018Oh, I believe Jesus died on the cross for me,\u2019 but I never really implemented it into my life. I never was like, I\u2019m going to be obedient.\u201d Bieber\u2019s turning point was when his perception of Jesus changed.<\/p>\n

He explained, \u201cI think it was my percentage of who Jesus really was, you know. I\u2019d had really bad examples of Christians in my life who would say one thing and do another, so they were the direct example of who Jesus was. That\u2019s why I didn\u2019t take it as seriously because I didn\u2019t have a good example.” Bieber continued, \u201cThe way I look at my relationship with God and with Jesus is I\u2019m not trying to earn God\u2019s love by doing good things. God has already loved me for who I am before I did anything to earn and deserve it. It\u2019s a free gift by accepting Jesus and just giving your life to him, and what he did is the gift.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bieber, who is often outspoken about his faith in God, told GQ<\/em> of the miracles God provided. He said, \u201cHurt people hurt people\u2014you know? And there\u2019s a quote: The comforted become the comforters. I don\u2019t know if you\u2019ve heard that before. But I really do feel comforted. I have a wife who I adore who I feel comforted by. I feel safe. I feel like my relationship with God is wonderful. And I have this outpouring of love that I want to be able to share with people, you know?\u201d Faith is at the forefront of Bieber\u2019s marriage to Hailey Baldwin. He committed to remaining celibate before he wed. \u201cI wanted to rededicate myself to God in that way because I really felt it was better for the condition of my soul,\u201d Bieber\u00a0told<\/a>\u00a0Vogue <\/em>of the decision. \u201cAnd I believe that God blessed me with Hailey as a result. There are perks. You get rewarded for good behavior.\u201d<\/p>\n
