That\u2019s according to a spicy new survey of 2,000 Americans conducted by Talker Research, which found that 33 percent of all those polled have stopped watching a movie during a sex scene. Millennials were the least likely generation to let a sex scene get in the way of finishing the movie at 26 percent.<\/p>\n<p>Younger Americans and their tolerance of nudity and sex scenes in films have been a hot topic of discussion lately, and a recent study by\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.economist.com\/culture\/2024\/05\/01\/is-there-more-or-less-sex-on-screen\">The Economist<\/a><\/em>\u00a0found that nudity and sex scenes have dipped by nearly 40 percent since the year 2000.\u00a0However, that\u2019s not stopping every show from pushing the boundary.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cosmopolitan.com\/entertainment\/celebs\/a61483533\/aemond-targaryen-nude\/\">HBO\u2019s \u201cHouse of the Dragon\u201d recently featured a full-frontal male nudity scene in its latest episode<\/a>.\u00a0Over one in four of those polled (27 percent) believe that sex scenes and nudity have \u201cno place\u201d in movies and TV now. Baby boomers were found to be the most likely to feel this way (35 percent).<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/CxkYrICvwwA?si=M9YiBqynHSWBM__M\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Forty-three percent of those polled believe that sex scenes are either always or mostly unnecessary and don\u2019t add enjoyment or story enhancement \u2014 Gen Z was the most likely generation to agree with this sentiment.\u00a0Barely one in ten think sex scenes always add to the story or enhance the viewing experience.\u00a0From a gender standpoint, the results showed that women are nearly twice as likely to shut off a movie if a sex scene comes on than men (42 percent and 23 percent, respectively).
