When asked about her thoughts on her accomplishments in an interview with NBC Sports, Levrone said, \u201cPraise God. I was not expecting that. He can do anything. Anything is possible.\u201d Levrone concluded her brief remarks by describing herself as \u201camazed, baffled and in shock.\u201d Her comments followed her finishing the women\u2019s 400-meter hurdles in 50.65 seconds, breaking her previous world record and beating the second-place finisher by nearly 2 seconds. The athlete\u2019s strong performance secured her a spot at this year\u2019s Olympic Games.<\/p>\n<p>This isn\u2019t the first time Levrone has brought up her Christian faith since bursting onto the national stage as a celebrated track and field athlete. In\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.christianpost.com\/news\/sydney-mclaughlin-breaks-her-own-world-record-credits-god.html\">2022<\/a>, as she broke her world record in the 400-meter hurdles at the World Athletics Championship in Eugene, Levrone took to Instagram to give gratitude to God. In the post, she quoted from Hebrews 4:16, saying, \u201c\u2018So let us come BOLDLY to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive His mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.\u2019\u201d\u00a0She added, \u201cPraise. His. Name. What a beautiful day yesterday was. Preparing for this meet, the core of my team was centered around faith and belief. The amount of prayer coupled with hard work was divinely culminated in 50.68 seconds. By the grace of God, we accomplished our goal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/iCGzmLOEePE?si=3CkOI8ROTKhvqFxU\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Levrone vowed to \u201ccontinue pushing the bounds of the sport because, with God, all things are possible!\u201d The athlete\u2019s performance in the 400-meter hurdles in the 2022 World Athletics Championship constituted an improvement from the\u00a0world record\u00a0she set at the 2021 Summer Olympic Games the previous year, where she also gave thanks to God for her athletic success. \u201cGiving the glory to God,\u201d she said after completing the race in 51.46 seconds. Levrone\u2019s eagerness to share her Christian faith extends beyond her athletic career and into her personal life.<\/p>\n<p>In\u00a02021, as she became engaged to former football player Andre Levrone, the track star praised her then-fianc\u00e9 as \u201cthe most God-fearing, passionate, honest, loving, hard-working, protective, and genuine man I\u2019ve ever met\u201d and someone who possesses \u201ceverything I\u2019ve prayed for.\u201d In a social media post addressed to her \u201cfuture husband,\u201d Levrone told him, \u201cI fall in love with you more and more each day off of the strength of your faith.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In an earlier\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.christianpost.com\/news\/olympian-sydney-mclaughlin-levrone-warns-against-perfectionism.html\">interview<\/a>\u00a0with The Christian Post, Levrone said, \u201cThe one thing that\u2019s unchanging is my faith in Christ, and that is the most valuable thing.\u201d Levrone added that her life\u2019s purpose is \u201cbeing able to share that truth with people and allow them to come to know and love the Lord in the way in which I have come to know and love.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sydney McLaughlin Levrone, an outspoken Christian track athlete, broke a world record at the U.S. Olympic team trials for track and field in Eugene, Oregon.
