Olympic gold medalist Kurt Angle recently opened up about how God changed his life. He said in a video posted by Christhlete, \u201cMy name is Kurt Angle. I\u2019m an Olympic gold medalist and a WWE superstar. The Bible verse I\u2019m going to give you today is from the book of Peter.\u201d Angle read 1 Peter 5:10-11, which says, \u201cAnd the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.\u00a0To him be the power forever and ever. Amen.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued, \u201cI\u2019ve had a lot of injuries in my career. I\u2019ve also had a lot of setbacks, especially with addiction.\u201d Ahead of his gold medal win at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, Angle broke his neck during a match. ESPN reported, \u201cCompeting in the semifinals of the national trials, Angle came down hard on the mat on his head. The results were two bulged and herniated disks, two cracked vertebrae and four pulled muscles in his neck.\u201d He managed to pull through and dominate at the Olympics. However, novocaine injections for his neck eventually resulted in a full-blown substance addiction.<\/p>\n
