\nAuthor Don MIller’s “Blue Like Jazz” shaped the Christian memoir landscape and changed the spiritual discussion in evangelical circles across the country. Time has passed, and that book has been in the process of being adapted as a movie <\/a>by none other than former CCM artist -turned-director Steve Taylor. They have hit some roadblocks along the way and it seemed like the the possibility of movie production was finally going to be shut down. However, with the help of a grassroots effort, the possibility of production has been renewed through a creative fundraising strategy and, best of all, you and I can be a part of it.
\nSeems some fans <\/a>of the book went to Miller and Taylor and pitched the idea of a grassroots effort to raise the remaining funds so the movie can go into production this fall. Through a special website, anyone who wants to see this movie made can donate as little or as much as he or she desires. Depending upon your level of donation you get some cool stuff like an associate producer credit on the movie, a call from Steve Taylor, be an extra in the movie and a lot of other fun items.
\nI have to admit, I decided to join the effort. This is a book that I have seen have signficant impact on believers and spiritual seekers alike. And while I have seen some pretty bad Christian movies made on a shoestring , somehow I have to hope this is going to be different.
