Greta Gerwig is trading in hot pink heels for a lion, a witch and a wardrobe. During a recent interview with Time, <\/em>the director of the hit movie \u201cBarbie\u201d said her goal in creating new film adaptations of C.S. Lewis\u2019 \u201cNarnia\u201d for Netflix is to give viewers a \u201cmagical re-enchantment of the world.\u201d Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos described Gerwig as an \u201cincredible visionary,\u201d and went on to vow the coming \u201cNarnia\u201d films will be faithful to the source material.<\/p>\n

He said, noting the movies will be \u201crooted in faith,\u201d \u201cIt won\u2019t be counter to how the audience may have imagined those worlds, but it will be bigger and bolder than they thought.\u201d Gerwig is a fan of Lewis\u2019 works. She said, \u201cI would say the two big books of my childhood were\u00a0\u2018Little Women\u2019\u00a0and the\u00a0\u2018Narnia\u2019 books. So I had that, you know, instant excitement, but instant terror that comes from trying to tackle something that has shaped me.\u201d<\/p>\n
