Actress Gina Carano, who was fired from \u201cThe Mandalorian\u201d in 2021 for voicing her opinion on Twitter, now X, is now suing Disney and Lucasfilm for wrongful termination and infringing on her First Amendment rights.<\/p>\n

She wrote in a lengthy X post about the lawsuit, \u201cAfter my 20 years of building a career from scratch, and during the regime of former Disney CEO Bob Chapek, Lucasfilm made this statement on Twitter terminating me from \u2018The Mandalorian:\u2019 \u2018Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm & there are no plans for her to be in the future. Nevertheless, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent & unacceptable.\u2019\u201d Her post continued, \u201cNothing could be further from the truth. The truth was I was being hunted down from everything I posted to every post I liked because I was not in line with the acceptable narrative at the time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Carano added, \u201cThe thing is, I never even used aggressive language. I shared thought-provoking quotes, pictures, memes & occasionally, I used my own words, not with aggression but with respect & the occasional comedy to keep the mood light in dark times.\u201d Nevertheless, Carano was fired from her position on the show after noting how the country\u2019s polarization could lead to real consequences in the future. However, because she was defending right-wing positions instead of the left, Disney fired her for her remarks. The actress is now\u00a0seeking compensation<\/a>\u00a0for the destruction of her character, suing Disney and Lucasfilm for $75,000 and a forced recast onto the show.<\/p>\n
