The 47-year-old says she has \u201cno intention\u201d of using AI to make films as the chief content officer of Great American Family. Bure told Fox News Digital while promoting her appearance on Fox\u2019s \u201cWe Are Family,\u201d \u201cI\u2019ll be keeping my eye on it for sure. I think it\u2019s something that\u2019s a little frightening to me at the core of it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She continued, \u201cHowever, we are using wonderful writers to write our movies, and I have no intention of using or touching AI when it comes to our filmmaking and writing scripts.\u201d Bure isn\u2019t the only person worried about AI in the entertainment industry. Sam Register, president of Warner Bros Animation and Cartoon Network Studios, noted AI doesn\u2019t work \u201cbetter\u201d than an artist in terms of animation.<\/p>\n<p>Register said, \u201cAs an animation studio, I just think it\u2019s important we protect the artists and the art form as long as we can. Because I think we should give jobs to people who really do that, and so they can get their entry-level experience. Animation\u2019s a visual medium. But, so far, I haven\u2019t seen anything AI can do visually that an artist doesn\u2019t do better currently.\u201d Nicole Brown, president of TriStar Pictures, said she wants to work \u201cwith human beings.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/-hOFNY9aeEY?si=saig5EoFnXB-RZft\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>She said, \u201cI mean, movies are about someone\u2019s experience, someone\u2019s perspective, someone\u2019s vision. So, even though there was a lot of\u00a0discussion about AI\u00a0during strikes, as someone building content, I want to work with human beings.\u201d Actress Justine Bateman\u00a0is also adamantly opposed to AI in Hollywood. She told Fox News Digital, \u201cI think AI has no place in Hollywood at all. To me, tech should solve problems that humans have. Using ChatGPT\u00a0or any software that uses AI to write screenplays, using that in place of a writer is not solving a problem. We don\u2019t have a lack of writers. We don\u2019t have a lack of actors. We don\u2019t have a lack of directors. We don\u2019t have a lack of talented people.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The entertainment industry was brought to a halt in 2023 after the Writers Guild of America and SAG-AFTRA went on strike. Control over the use of artificial intelligence was the most hard-fought issue in the lengthy, methodical negotiations and became the main driver of dissent during the voting for\u00a0SAG-AFTRA members.<\/p>\n<p>Under the new Writers Guild of America contract, raw, AI-generated storylines will not be regarded as \u201cliterary material,\u201d a term in contracts for scripts and other story forms a screenwriter produces. This means they won\u2019t be competing with computers for screen credits.
