\"kings.jpg\"<\/span>I had the good fortune of going to an advance screening of the premier for “Kings<\/a>“–a TV show based on the Old Testament story of David and Goliath and the succession of kings that follows–with the cast and writer, Michael Green, available for Q&A afterward. It was fantastic. And so were all the episodes that followed.
\nAbout mid-way through the season, I received an email from Michael Green who was writing to all the bloggers and reporters who had supported the show, thanking us for the good reviews, but informing us that, while the show would play out its full first season, that we would not see a second–the show had been canceled.
\nI felt beyond surprised and extremely disappointed.
\nNot only does the series have fantastic actors and looks amazing on-screen, it has something to please everyone: drama, romance, conflict, politics, war, a dash of fantasy, and, of course, all sorts of amazing, well-played out religious allusions.<\/p>\n


\nThis Saturday, July 25, the season finale runs at 8 p.m. All the episodes are available to watch online–and I can’t recommend them enough. It’s one of the best shows I’ve seen in years. And apparently, as its fan-base has grown over the second half of the season, NBC is now considering (emphasis on considering) ordering up a second season. Apparently, rumor has it, Kings is now on the bubble.
\nSo my advice: Save Kings! If you haven’t seen it, go watch. You won’t be disappointed. You’ll be riveted.
