Josh Duhamel recently opened up and got candid about the reason why he and Fergie split back in 2017. \u201cThere wasn\u2019t anything wrong with [our relationship],\u201d said Duhamel while appearing on “In Depth With Graham Bensinger.” \u201cWe had a great time. I think we kind of outgrew each other and had very different interests.\u201d The pair were married for eight years before splitting in 2017. Duhamel spoke about his struggles with being the spotlight saying, \u201cI don\u2019t think I ever really got comfortable with all of it. I\u2019m just not a guy who is comfortable going to red carpets. Doing all the Hollywood stuff.\u201d Duhamel recalled “missing the simplicity” of himself and of his home state of North Dakota, saying he tried to persuade the Black Eyed Peas singer to move, but realized that wasn’t something Fergie would want to sacrifice. Fergie was born and raised in Southern California, and Duhamel knew she couldn’t move to the Midwest. \u201cI\u2019ve got no hard feelings for it. I truly don\u2019t,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019m very lucky that she\u2019s a kind human.”<\/p>\n

Duhamel and Fergie finalized their divorce in 2019 and have maintained a good relationship with each other as they co-parent their 10-year-old son, Axl. Duhamel has since bought a lake house in North Dakota with his wife Audra Mari after they tied the knot in September 2022. \u201cHaving this place out here almost helps my career because I can get back to being who I really am,\u201d Duhamel said. The actor has recently announced that he and Mari are expecting their first child together. Mari announced the news to her Instagram by posting photos of her ultrasound with the caption, \u201cBaby Duhamel coming soon.” Fergie shared her support for the pair by commenting on the post, \u201cI am truly happy for you guys!
