University of Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers recently led his team in an upset victory over Alabama, the third-ranked team in the nation. ESPN reported that Ewers passed for 349 yards and three touchdowns to lead his team to a 34-24 win over Alabama, a massive win for a program trying to climb back to its old level of prominence.<\/p>\n

After the game, ESPN broadcaster Holly Rowe spoke to Ewers and asked him how his discipline and sacrifice helped lead the team to a win. He said, \u201cWe knew this whole week if we came in here, we were going to ball out. We were going to try to make them quit. God is so good. I can\u2019t say that enough, how much God has put me through. He\u2019s made me so strong. I\u2019m so proud of my team, our defense, we balled out. I\u2019m fired up for the rest of the way.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ewers played his first season of college football at Ohio State University but decided to return to his home state to join his hometown team.\u00a0In a letter to The Player\u2019s Tribune last year, Ewers\u00a0said<\/a>, \u201cFinding a balance between inside and outside expectations has always been challenging for me. On the outside, from the trolls to the people who love you, inviting so many opinions and perspectives into a choice like this is never ideal.\u201d<\/p>\n
