Schwarzenegger recalled, \u201cIt reminds me of Howard Stern\u2019s question to me: \u2018Tell me, governor, what happens to us when we die?\u2019 I said, \u2018Nothing. You\u2019re 6 feet under. Anyone that tells you something else is a liar.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When DeVito pushed back, saying, \u201cYou don\u2019t know,\u201d Schwarzenegger explained that he was referring to people and their physical bodies, not their souls. He also clarified that he\u2019s uncomfortable with death and would prefer not to die. He said, \u201cI said, \u2018We don\u2019t know what happens with the soul and all this spiritual stuff that I\u2019m not an expert in, but I know that the body as we see each other now, we will never see each other again like that.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/7JxocYX9RHg\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>He added, \u201cExcept in some fantasy. When people talk about, \u2018I will see them again in heaven,\u2019 it sounds so good, but the reality is that we won\u2019t see each other after we\u2019re gone. That\u2019s the sad part. I know people feel comfortable with death, but I don\u2019t.\u201d Schwarzenegger said he\u2019s not looking forward to dying because he will miss \u201ceverything.\u201d He said, \u201cTo have fun and to go to the gym and pump up, to ride my bike on the beach, to travel around, to see interesting things all over the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.beliefnet.com\/celebrity-faith-database\/s\/arnold-schwarzenegger.aspx\">Schwarzenegger grew up in the Catholic\u00a0Church<\/a> and spoke about his faith as recently as 2021. \u201cI grew up Catholic, I went to church, went to Catholic school, I learned the Bible and my catechisms,\u201d Schwarzenegger said in a YouTube video. \u201cAnd from those days, I remember a phrase that is relevant today: A servant\u2019s heart. It means serving something larger than yourself.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While Schwarzenegger sees reuniting with loved ones in heaven as a \u201cfantasy,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gotquestions.org\/family-heaven.html\">Got Questions Ministries<\/a> cites biblical evidence stating that this will be a reality for believers in the afterlife. The ministry says, \u201cOur ability to recognize people in the afterlife is suggested in several passages of Scripture. At the transfiguration of Christ, Moses and Elijah made an appearance, and they were recognizable (Matthew 17:3-4).<\/p>\n<p>It continues, \u201cThough they had departed this world centuries prior, Moses and Elijah remained distinct persons who had not lost their identity. In\u00a0Luke 16:19-31, Abraham, Lazarus, and the rich man are all recognizable after death. Jesus was recognizable after His resurrection, so it stands to reason that we also will be recognizable in our glorified bodies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hopefully, Arnold\u2019s heart can be opened to the genuine hope in Christ that there is far more than just this short life.
