Before the Robertsons became household names and sparked nonstop laughs through their hit reality show \u201cDuck Dynasty,\u201d running on A&E from 2012 to 2017, patriarch Phil Roberston faced a challenging journey. Early in his marriage to his wife, Kay, Phil was far from the God-fearing man he is today, an alcoholic who almost ruined his life, but then he found Jesus.<\/p>\n

Phil\u2019s story of almost losing everything, embracing Jesus and later inspiring millions will be shared through the feature film \u201cThe Blind,\u201d set to hit theaters this September. The film pledges to share the \u201ctrue story of the Robertson family,\u201d a journey sure to inspire others. In a statement, Phil told CBN\u2019s Faithwire, \u201cI\u2019m embarrassed by my past on one side, but on the other, I\u2019m unashamed because my rotten sins have been bought and paid for by blood. If \u2018The Blind\u2019 brings one person to know the power of the blood of Jesus, it was worth it.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Robertson family members recently started sharing artwork for the movie on social media, with an official description giving a deeper look into what audiences can expect. The synopsis reads, \u201cLong before Phil Robertson was a reality TV star, he fell in love, started a family, and began to spiral out of control. \u2018The Blind\u2019 shares never before revealed moments in Phil\u2019s life as he seeks to conquer the shame of his past, ultimately finding redemption in an unlikely place.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kay Robertson said she loves Phil wholeheartedly in a Facebook post announcing the film, calling him her \u201cpioneer man.\u201d She also said the film is a vulnerable look at the family\u2019s origin story. She wrote, \u201cThis is our true story, and now we\u2019re telling it all. I can\u2019t wait for y\u2019all to see the teaser trailer in a few days.\u201d Phil also shared the film\u2019s artwork on Facebook with a special message for his wife.<\/p>\n
