Hollywood has its share of darkness, but there are some light rays amid the chaos. For years, the Movieguide Awards have brought together some of the brightest and best in Hollywood, respecting faith and family-friendly TV shows and movies that inspire and enlighten audiences.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Movieguide Awards\u00a0honored the most inspirational projects in Hollywood during 2022, representing \u201cthe viewing preferences of millions of families across the country with a Top 100 iPhone app with 1 in 3 parents using Movieguide to determine what content they choose to see.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, what separates this award show from the rest is that every celebrity left the show with a Bible. According to one reporter, the Bibles were put in swag bags that were given out after the show.<\/p>\n

Candace Cameron Bure, Dolly Parton, and\u00a0The Chosen\u2019s<\/em>\u00a0season 3 premiere of episodes one and two were among the winners. Bure was honored for her first film\u00a0with GAC Media,\u00a0A Christmas \u2026 Present,<\/em>\u00a0winning the best family television award.<\/p>\n

\u201cMassive thank you to [GAC Media President Bill Abbott] and [Great American Family] for being unashamed to share scripture and the name of Jesus on cable television and for your dedication to faith and family entertainment,\u201d Bure\u00a0said\u00a0in a celebratory post on Instagram.<\/p>\n

The Chosen\u2019s<\/em>\u00a0season theatrical release took home the 2023\u00a0Movieguide Awards\u2019 Epiphany Prize for the most inspiring movie. The streaming series, which is based on the\u00a0life of Jesus,\u00a0attracted a\u00a0historic number of fans to the theaters\u00a0in November and December to watch the first two episodes of season three, with a total worldwide box office earnings of $14,679,641. Dolly Parton\u2019s Mountain Magic Christmas<\/em>\u00a0also won the Epiphany Prize for the most inspiring television show. Puss in Boots: The Last<\/em>\u00a0Wish\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Sonic the Hedgehog 2<\/em>\u00a0tied for the best family movie.<\/p>\n

Also during the ceremony, UP Entertainment founder and CEO Charles \u201cCharley\u201d Humbard was honored with Movieguide\u2019s Visionary Award, which is given to \u201ca person who has positively influenced the entertainment industry and culture.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is truly an honor to receive this award,\u201d Humbard said. \u201cFrom the beginning, we recognized a need for uplifting and positive entertainment for viewers across America. Today, with five unique brands serving diverse audiences, we can truly say we are doing our part to uplift someone. Thank you to Movieguide for recognizing and championing the need to make and celebrate positive, uplifting programming in Hollywood.\u201d<\/p>\n

In previous years, Hollywood and most actors shied away from discussing faith, seeing it as taboo. However, there\u2019s been an increase in actors, award shows, and streaming platforms offering faith content that the family will love. It\u2019s like more people recognize that talking about your faith and beliefs is okay.<\/p>\n

No one can be sure about what the future holds, but with award shows like The Movieguide Awards, it\u2019s clear that faith is here to stay in Hollywood.
