Mark Wahlberg recently shared an important message of faith. Fans may know Wahlberg as a producer, actor, and entrepreneur, but many don\u2019t realize he\u2019s a devout Catholic. He discussed his values and faith during a recent appearance on \u201cToday.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wahlberg told Savannah Guthrie, \u201cFaith, it\u2019s everything. It\u2019s afforded me so many things. God didn\u2019t come to save the saints. He came to save the sinners. We want to be better versions of ourselves, and through focusing on my faith, it\u2019s allowed me to do that.\u201d Wahlberg says his faith is important to him, but he doesn\u2019t want to force it on anyone.<\/p>\n

He explained, \u201cIt\u2019s a balance. I don\u2019t wanna jam it down anybody\u2019s throat, but I do not deny my faith. That\u2019s an even bigger sin,\u201d he explained. \u201cYou know, it\u2019s not popular in my industry, but, you know, I cannot deny my faith. It\u2019s important for me to share that with people. I have friends from all walks of life and different faiths and religions, so you know, it\u2019s important to respect and honor them as well.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wahlberg appeared on \u201cToday\u201d with ashes shaped like a cross on his forehead while donning a black buttoned collared shirt and matching pants. Ash Wednesday is the first day of Lent, and the \u201cFather Stu\u201d actor shared inspirational lessons on fasting in a Catholic prayer app called \u201cHallow.\u201d He was a guest narrator on the platform and talked about his \u201cPray 40-Day Lent Challenge.\u201d<\/p>\n
