Singer Hillary Scott of the country ensemble Lady A, formerly known as Lady Antebellum, walked the red carpet with all smiles at the Grammy Awards, happy to spread a message of hope through her Grammy-nominated Christian song collaboration.<\/p>\n

Scott, who collaborated with Christian pop duo For King & Country on a 2021 song called \u201cFor God is With Us,\u201d expressed gratitude for the Christian song receiving a Grammy nomination for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance\/Song as she walked the red carpet at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards.<\/p>\n

Though the pop duo and the 36-year-old musician didn\u2019t win the Grammy, losing to Kirk Franklin and Maverick City\u2019s \u201cFear Is Not My Future,\u201d Scott expressed her gratitude on social media for the nomination. In an Instagram post, Scott wrote, \u201cHappy to have gotten to spend this weekend celebrating a special nomination with these two and our families. Joel and Luke [Smallbone], thank you for your continued kindness and friendship.\u201d The post showed a picture of her on the red carpet with the two Australian Smallbone brothers from For King & Country.\u00a0Scott said she would treasure this collaboration forever.<\/p>\n

In an interview with\u00a0Fox News<\/a>\u00a0on the red carpet, Scott said, \u201cFor God is With Us\u201d sends a message about God that needs to be heard today. She said, \u201cshe\u2019s grateful to be part of such a hopeful song.\u201d\u00a0She said, \u201cThis song is just an important message. It\u2019s about the bringer of hope, where we find our hope, and to be able to tell this story and hopefully point others to finding that hope themselves just really is important. Now more than ever, the world needs this message.\u201d<\/p>\n

The song showcases\u00a0lyrics<\/a>\u00a0that seem to describe the awe and wonder of the birth, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The song tells a story about how the Lord always remained with humanity throughout the nativity, crucifixion and Jesus\u2019 ascension to Heaven and how the Lord will return \u201cin glory.\u201d<\/p>\n

Throughout the song, the chorus repeats the words \u201cFor God is with us\u201d to emphasize the Lord\u2019s continuous presence as people navigate the state of the world and await the second coming of Jesus Christ.\u00a0In a statement to\u00a0The Christian Beat<\/a>, the Smallbone brothers said the song is relatable to any situation in life.\u00a0\u201cThis song speaks to all circumstances. No matter hardship or great delight, we can all take great comfort in God being with us,\u201d the Smallbones shared.<\/p>\n

The Grammy\u00a0website<\/a>\u00a0reports that Scott and For King & Country have had a friendly rivalry as they competed against each other for Grammy awards in recent years.\u00a0Since 2015, For King & Country has won four Grammy awards and lost twice. One of the losses was to Scott & The Scott Family, who won a Grammy in 2017 for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance\/Song with their song \u201cThy Will.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Smallbone brothers and Scott met for the first time at the 2017 Grammys.\u00a0Joel Smallbone said, \u201cIt wasn\u2019t on great terms because, you know, we were nominated in the same categories, and she won everything.\u201d However, they are now friends who cross paths in church services and around Nashville.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
