During a postgame press conference, Butker said it\u2019s vital for players to go on the field and focus on what they can control.<\/p>\n<p>He said, \u201cI kind of had the easy job there. The offensive line did a great job blocking, great snap, great hold, and thankfully the ball went through, and all glory to God.\u201d Butker also discussed the importance of prayer and faith in his life with Sports Spectrum\u2019s Jason Romano. The kicker said it was a \u201cblessing\u201d to play in the Super Bowl for the third time in four years, adding that he\u2019s persistent about putting first things first.<\/p>\n<p>Of his Christian faith, Butker said, \u201cit\u2019s the most important thing,\u201d adding that he\u2019s aware that his identity must come from the Lord, not football. Butker said, \u201cIf I didn\u2019t have faith in God, I don\u2019t think I\u2019d be the father I am, the husband I am, the kicker I am. That kind of sets a tone for everything else that gives me the strength to go do everything I need to.\u201d Butker added that he knows he\u2019s a child of God.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">\u201cYou miss some kicks and you realize, \u2018OK my identity can\u2019t be all as a football player.\u2019 So I grew a lot in my prayer life knowing I\u2019m nothing without Him and I gotta lean on Him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker plays in his 3rd Super Bowl in 4 years.<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/i3qEzALVUT\">https:\/\/t.co\/i3qEzALVUT<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/QhEBB0i1Kn\">pic.twitter.com\/QhEBB0i1Kn<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Sports Spectrum (@Sports_Spectrum) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Sports_Spectrum\/status\/1624985059823345665?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 13, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Chiefs linebacker Nick Bolton also shared in a postgame presser a dream he had a few nights before the Super Bowl \u2014 a vision that came to full fruition during the game when he\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/sportsspectrum.com\/sport\/football\/2023\/02\/13\/child-god-harrison-butker-super-bowl-chiefs-patrick-mahomes-mvp\/\">scooped up a fumble<\/a>\u00a0and made it 36 yards to score a touchdown.<\/p>\n<p>It was one of the most memorable moments of the night, as Sports Spectrum noted. \u201cI actually had a dream about scooping and scoring in the Super Bowl two nights ago,\u201d Bolton said after the game. \u201cFor it to happen is surreal. I just thank God, my family, teammates and coaches, and my community and the Chiefs Kingdom. They all played a part in this win for sure.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Butker hasn\u2019t been shy about discussing his Catholic faith. In a 2019 interview, he spoke about how the reverence and rigor he found in the Traditional Latin Mass played an instrumental role in his \u201cre-version\u201d to Catholicism while in college at Georgia Tech. Butker met with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.catholicnewsagency.com\/news\/250385\/nfl-kicker-harrison-butker-traditional-latin-mass\">Catholic News Agency<\/a>\u00a0in February 2022 to speak about how much the Latin Mass means to him and his family.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy success in football has given me a pedestal, and I feel a responsibility to raise awareness to different issues that I think God wants me to bring to the forefront.
