The phrase \u201cthoughts and prayers\u201d has been spoken, texted and tweeted countless times since\u00a0Damar Hamlin\u00a0went into cardiac arrest on Monday Night Football. On Tuesday, one ESPN analyst took the phrase to heart,\u00a0praying for Hamlin<\/a>\u00a0on live TV. As Hamlin remains in critical condition, Dan Orlovsky said a prayer for the\u00a0Buffalo Bills\u2019\u00a0safety during Tuesday\u2019s edition of \u201cNFL Live.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cGod, we come to you in these moments that we don\u2019t understand, that are hard, because we believe that you\u2019re God, and coming to you and praying to you has impact,\u201d Orlovsky said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re sad, we\u2019re angry, and we want answers, but some things are unanswerable. We just want to pray, truly come to you and pray for strength for Damar, for healing for Damar, for comfort for Damar, to be with his family, and to give them peace. If we didn\u2019t believe that prayer didn\u2019t work, we wouldn\u2019t ask this of you, God. I believe in prayer; we believe in prayer. We lift up Damar Hamlin\u2019s name in your name. Amen.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hamlin received CPR for over nine minutes on the field before being taken away in an ambulance and admitted to an intensive care unit at a local hospital. \u201cWe are grateful and thankful for the outpouring of support we have received thus far,\u201d the\u00a0Bills\u2019 statement\u00a0from Tuesday afternoon said.<\/p>\n

Hamlin\u2019s family released a statement Tuesday expressing \u201csincere gratitude\u201d for the outpouring of support they received amid a \u201cchallenging time\u201d for the family. They also thanked the more than 150,000 fans who have\u00a0donated nearly $4 million\u00a0to his charity toy drive fund.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn behalf of our family, we want to express our sincere gratitude for the love and support shown to Damar during this challenging time. We are deeply moved by the prayers, kind words and donations from fans around the country,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n
