Allen told the outlet the original plot for the Disney+ series had some elements he didn&#8217;t want to include, as he sought to focus on &#8220;Christ-mas&#8221; and the season&#8217;s true meaning.<\/p>\n<p>He said, &#8220;It originally had a lot of otherworldly characters, and ghosts, and goblins. I said, &#8216;No, this is Christ-mas. It&#8217;s Christ-mas. It literally is a religious holiday. We don&#8217;t have to blow trumpets, but I do want you to acknowledge it; that&#8217;s what this is about. If you want to get into Santa Claus, you&#8217;re gonna have to go back to history, and it&#8217;s all about religion.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Fans won&#8217;t see the &#8220;brilliant&#8221; way religion was tackled in the series until the final two episodes, but Allen seemed enthusiastic about the presentation. &#8220;It&#8217;s really wonderful,&#8221; he\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thewrap.com\/the-santa-clauses-christianity-tim-allen-disney-series\/\">said<\/a>. &#8220;They took a chance, and we did it really well.&#8221; Allen mirrored these comments last week in an interview with TV host Kelly Clarkson, explaining how the real story of St. Nicholas will be integrated into the series.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/6Of1wKwGVPo\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We dive deep as it gets later about St. Nicholas and the Turkish priest that started this,&#8221; he said. But Allen also delivered a powerful message about the power of giving to others. &#8220;The heart of Christmas is about giving. Getting is what we&#8217;ve gotten used to, but the whole thing is about what it&#8217;s like to give,&#8221; he said. &#8220;Give as a father to his children. It is so magic.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Faithwire\u00a0reported Allen has also been in the headlines following outrage over something his Santa character proclaims in &#8220;The Santa Clauses.&#8221; The moment in question happens when Santa is asked what&#8217;s bothering him. He responds, &#8220;Saying Merry Christmas to all has suddenly become problematic!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps the line hit too close to home regarding the real-life debate over Christmas because the dialogue immediately caused a Twitter &#8220;uproar,&#8221;\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/tvshowbiz\/article-11439811\/Tim-Allen-causes-uproar-Santa-Clauses-joke-saying-Merry-Christmas-problematic.html\">according to The Daily Mail<\/a>. Allen, who has been open about his support for\u00a0Donald Trump, was at the center of social media uproar after joking that saying Merry\u00a0Christmas\u00a0&#8216;has suddenly become problematic&#8217; on the new Disney+ mini-series The Santa Clauses.<\/p>\n<p>Despite it being a scripted show, many took to\u00a0Twitter\u00a0to blast the 59-year-old star for his political beliefs. One user wrote, &#8216;Santa had the red hat all along, and we just ignored it,&#8217; about the Make America Great Again cap made famous by former US President Trump.
