Thankfully, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/thespun.com\/college-hoops\/uconn-releases-update-on-paige-bueckers-following-surgery\">The Spun<\/a>, her surgery went well, and she\u2019s started rehab.<\/p>\n<p>According to Sports Spectrum, the junior guard missed 19 games of her sophomore season after suffering a knee injury to the same leg late last year. She returned to lead the Huskies to the national championship game, which they lost to South Carolina. Last Monday, the star athlete tore her ACL during a pickup game.<\/p>\n<p>Although she\u2019s undoubtedly disappointed, the Minnesota native said she is confident God is using her injury for good, a nod to Romans 8:28. The verse reads, \u201cAnd we know that in all things God works for the good\u00a0of those who love Him, who have been called\u00a0according to His purpose.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bueckers wrote in an Instagram post, \u201cIt\u2019s so, so crazy because you work so hard to get back healthy, you feel stronger than ever, and you are playing your best basketball, and with one sudden movement, it all shifts. We\u2019ll miss her presence on the court, but she\u2019ll do everything she can to still lead and help her teammates this season. Our program will support Paige through her healing process to help her come back better and stronger.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bueckers, for her part, is confident she will soon return. She wrote, \u201cMy absolute love for the game and godly strength will get me back to where I need to be. I\u2019ve worked too hard for the little kid in these pictures to keep going for the dreams I\u2019ve had since I first picked up the ball, so why would I stop now? The prayers and love means so much to me, and the doubts that I won\u2019t get back to where I was might mean even more. God put a dream in my heart, and even if I have to walk through a nightmare to get it, I\u2019m going to keep believing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After her surgery, Bueckers posted a photo with a simple caption, but strong caption: \u201cGod is GREAT\u2026Let\u2019s get it.\u201d It must be difficult for Paige to know that she won\u2019t be able to play next season. However, it\u2019s her faith that will get her through this injury and back to the game she loves.
