Paula Faris had found remarkable success as co-host of \u201cThe View\u201d and co-anchor of \u201cGood Morning America: Weekend Edition,\u201d when God spoke to her.<\/p>\n

She was at the top of her career, but she was incredibly exhausted. While her career was \u201csoaring,\u201d her personal life was a different story.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was at the height of my career\u2026and I really felt like I was walking in my God-given calling,\u201d Faris said in an interview on \u2018The Billy Hallowell Podcast.\u2019 \u201cAnd I leaned in so hard to what we\u2019re told to lean into \u2013 to work and vocation\u2026that I burnt out.\u201d<\/p>\n

She may have been in her dream career, but everything else was falling apart \u2013 her health and her marriage. She said she had become consumed with work and \u201cdidn\u2019t have an ease in her spirit.\u201d<\/p>\n

As a devoted Christian, she knew something was not well with her soul.<\/p>\n

\u201cI knew that I had taken it to an unhealthy place,\u201d she said. \u201cI had become addicted to what I did, addicted to the accolades\u2026accomplishment, and the high [of] the spotlight.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt became about what I was doing, not who I was doing it for,\u201d Faris said.<\/p>\n

Then it was one blow after another including a miscarriage, an emergency surgery, a concussion and a head-on collision, and a tough bout of pneumonia. \u201cMy life just felt like it was falling apart,\u201d Faris said.<\/p>\n

She realized in that moment that she had misplaced her identity.<\/p>\n

\u201cHere I am a professing Christian and it wasn\u2019t good enough to just be \u2018Paula.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

This is when she decided to stop everything and do what nobody was expecting she would ever do. She left her career behind. The transition wasn\u2019t easy. \u201cI didn\u2019t know what to do with myself,\u201d Faris said.<\/p>\n

She felt called to get back in touch with God. She began reading Scripture more and she began to put her focus in the place that it should have been.<\/p>\n

Faris learned a lot from her journey which she has shared in her new book titled \u201cCalled Out.\u201d She hopes it will inspire those who are struggling with issues related to their calling.<\/p>\n

Faris also hopes that those who read it will be encouraged to listen to God\u2019s voice.<\/p>\n
