American rock singer-songwriter, Lenny Kravitz is a devout Christian and his spirituality transcends not only in the spiritual themes of his music but also in his personal life.<\/p>\n

At a young age, he felt the \u201cpresence of God\u201d when he was a member of the prestigious California Boys Choir. In an interview on \u201cOprah\u2019s Master Class: Belief Special,\u201d Kravitz talked in a detail about the memorable encounter.<\/p>\n

At the time, Kravitz and the other choir members followed a rigorous practice schedule, training all day and night. The training eventually took a toll on his body.<\/p>\n

\u201cI got sick. I had the flu and I got sent to this infirmary where this other kid was,\u201d Kravitz said. \u201cHe and I were in this room together for days, getting checked on and getting better.\u201d<\/p>\n

Around this time, the boy and Kravitz struck up a profound conversation.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s like, \u2018Do you know about Jesus Christ?\u2019\u201d Kravitz said. \u201cI said, \u2018Well, I\u2019ve heard of him, but what?\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cHe starts telling me all about Christ and all this scripture and things, just talking to me and reading to me,\u201d Kravitz continued. \u201cIt\u2019s quite interesting because you have these two young boys just sitting there talking and having this great conversation about God and love and Christ.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kravitz was moved by the discussion with his fellow choir member. He didn\u2019t know how that conversation would profoundly change his life.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can\u2019t explain it to you, but the presence of God was in the room,\u201d Kravitz said. \u201cI\u2019m talking about something really heavy and thick, and the two of us felt it. It was something that just kind of came over us. We were both crying because whatever this presence was, was so overwhelming that it just hit you in your spirit… We were having an experience with God.\u201d<\/p>\n

That moment solidified Kravitz\u2019s belief that God is truly everywhere.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe spirit, the being, the power that created me was right there with me,\u201d he said. \u201cI didn\u2019t need to go to anybody to deal with God. It was just right there. It was a personal experience.\u201d<\/p>\n

That moment stuck with him throughout his life and his faith has strengthened over the years.<\/p>\n

Kravitz also committed to remain celibate for years. Though Kravitz dated a number of high profile women in Hollywood, he decided that he needed to slow things and down and wait until he found the one. Formerly recognized for his Rock Star lifestyle, and promiscuity, he said on record in 2005 that he was going to wait until marriage to have sex again.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s just a promise I made until I get married,\u201d he explained. \u201cWhere I\u2019m at in life, the women have got to come with something else, not just the body, but the mind and spirit. It usually trips them out, but that\u2019s what it\u2019s going to be. I\u2019m looking at the big picture.\u201d<\/p>\n

Celibacy was important enough to him that his album and musical tour It Is Time for a Love Revolution promoted the message of purity until marriage. Another interesting fact?
